Grand Sunset Princess Resort

I do not reccommend getting married at this resort!!! Once we put down our deposits they decided to raise the price of our wedding package by like $1500. We were also going to be one of three other weddings that day and they made me feel like I was just another bother for them. Plus the lack of communication was unappealing. I highly suggest that you not book your wedding here!

I was told the same.. a max of 2 a day. I havent been dealing much with the pricing part of things but ive been copied on all the emails and as long you make your questions and expectations clear ive found Demarys to be helpful and no prices raised yet. of course the extra and add ones have made the package more expensive but that was expected. Patience is definitely a virtue with this resort. Everything is booked so im just praying for the best right now lol. ...Still waiting for photographer samples to share though.

Hi girls! First of all, thanks for all the great info I have found on this site so far... the pictures of the resort look beautifull! I'm getting married at the Grand Sunset Princess some time during the week of April 25th to May 2nd... The one thing that we need to firgure out right now is the package that we want for the wedding... we are unsure about doing all the leagal papers in Mexico.. we may prefer to do them here in Canada but we still want a real wedding ceremony down in MExico... we were suggested to mabe go for the "vow renewal packages" as opposed to the "civil wedding packages" but I am not sure what kind of ceremony (if it's a real wedding ceremy) if we take a vow renewal package.... does anyonre have any information on the subject? I wrote an email to the resort's wedding coordinator a few days ago but no response yet...

Thanks!!!

I'm getting legally married here (Ontario) a couple of weeks before we go. I've spoken to a few friends that have recently been married in Mexico and they all recomended doing it this way. We're doing the vow renewal package and as far as I've been told it's the same ceremony just not legal. I've been told nobody will know the difference. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Courtney! This is very helpfull. The resort hasn't replied to my email yet but I'm glad to hear that this is something they do on a regular basis... Have you customised your package a bit? Because I know that the vow renawal package doesn't include a cake or a photographer.. I was thinking of bringing my own photographer (pay for his trip and he does the pictures for "free") But I would still like to have a cake and maybe some extra decorations... Have you had a chance to look into any "extras" available?

Thanks

-Valerie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
