Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

I just received my videos from our videographer and want to offer up an AWESOME review of Indigo Wedding Videography, based in Cancun. Matias was great to work with. We got both a short video and a 40-minute video. Soooo thrilled with them.

Here is our short video:

It is beautiful.

Our wedding was on Oct. 25th and even thought it was raining and we had to move our location, it was still beautiful.
Guillermo (Memo) is a great wedding coordinator. We had a wonderful day.

Im so glad to see everyone post online here about the resort! I would like to say, our wedding is 2/14/14 at Grand Sunset Princess!!

We are also working with Emma, love her! My Fiance and I were fortunate to fly down in May and check everything out first, we chose The Chill Out lounge because it looks amazing, but I honestly loved the entire resort!

One thing I was concerned about was the DJ - we did opt to have the DJ so I am so happy it worked out well for Robyn. I heard the
DJ does not MC anything so I got a family member to introduce us, setup speeches, first dances, etc. I picked out every song for the DJ to be conservative..

Also, we chose not to do the dance floor, I talked to another bride who did not do one and she said dancing in the sand was one of the best parts of the night! I am slightly nervous about not having one but it will all be okay :)

Do you have any other questions? I pretty much have all the pricing figured out!

Goodluck!!

Hello everyone!

Just returned from our wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess and our honeymoon in St. Lucia last week.  I will be posting a more in depth review once the photos come in but wanted to let all of you know this was a beautiful wedding.  Guillermo the WC was amazing and I couldn't be more happy as to how everything turned out.  Will post more soon!

BAHHHH!!! Completely teared up watching your video, what an AMAZING day. I have every faith that things will work out for our special day as well, the happiness in everyoneâ€s faces in your video assured me of that, along with the wonderful reviews weâ€re seeing here J I am trying not to wish away the days until March 8th, 2014 though, the build up is so wonderful!

b21fly - Mrs. Brown - AWESOME REVIEW! I appreciated the detail you put into this review; our wedding is at the Sunset Gazebo on March 4th and we are using the Chillout Lounge for our reception. Hearing about Guillermo (who we call Memo lol) being so helpful is very much in line with how weâ€ve found him so far through email! Covering all details of a wedding from across the country can be very challenging but his humor and friendliness puts us at ease. All the best in your marriage!!!!

Hey peeps! Question about timing for reception - we are getting married at the grand sunset on march 8th :) YIPEEE! In planning the wedding programs and inputing the "agenda" for the reception, I am wondering what you guys think about order of events. Wedding is at 4, with pics to be done around 440 before sunset hits too much lol. We have the CHILLOUT LOUNGE at the GSP from 6-10, and my wedding coordinator suggested the following order of events - wecome cocktails, speeches, dinner, cake etc... I am guessing that between the wedding and reception people will definitely go for snack seeing as food is at their disposal whenever they want!!! If we start at 6, do speeches from 630 to 7 or so, then eat, does that seem ok? Thanks ladies!

Hello :) My Fiance & I are planning our wedding at the GSP on May 15th 2014.  We are VERY excited.  So far the planning hasn't been stressful.  The destination planning has been the easy part.  Finding my dress & the bridesmaid dresses was the hard part!  Jaime & I vacationed at GSP last May & loved it so much we decided to come back for our wedding! I am just looking for some opinions.  We are getting married fairly early in the day.  Right now our ceremony is at 2pm.  We are thinking about looking into pushing this back to 4pm or later. What would you suggest? We have our dinner set for La Fondue.  Also I am deciding if I should make the flowers for my bridesmaids/groomsmen/mothers/fathers.  I would like my flowers to be real, yet I don't seem to like the look of the 4 choices of flower we get to choose from.  As far as flowers for the ceremony & dinner go, do I decide that when we arrive or before hand?

One more question, what has seemed to be the best option for photography?  I don't like the resort options.  I would like to hire someone offsite & pay for them to come to the resort.  We would also like the "rights" to ALL (most) of our photos, not just 20 or 30.  If anyone has had an offsite photographer, did GSP have any problems getting them into the resort?

Thanks for your time!! I really need the help :) Lacy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
