Also how much time did you spend picking things out and going over final details before the wedding day?

Did anyone do the actual legal ceremony with the blood test and all?

Im diving in head first and not too sure what to expect!! two more months though and I'll be posting pics :)

SUNTANSAM I believe their isnt actually an option to choose sides, its the same options for both sides but if anyone knows better please correct me :)

Hi Jessicuzie,

I was wondering if you actually went through with the beach reception...this is what we wanted to do.  Any chance you could send pictures my way?

OMG!!! 7weeks to go and I've just received email from Sabrina stating that the city hall made new legislation and we have to translate our birth certificates into Spanish and get them legalised in our country before we go. ARRRGGG!!! Anybody else in the same boat??

Your photos are fantastic Shelbi!  I have a few questions for you:

1.  When was the date of your wedding and at what time?  I am getting married in November about an hour before sunset so we can get some beautiful sunset photos (much like you have).

2.  Did you go with an officiant through the hotel or did you have your own?

3.  Where did you get your maracas from?

Thanks so much!

Hi Ladies!  Congratulations!

I am doing a symbolic wedding and getting married at Toronto City Hall just before the wedding.  We are so excited.

We have stayed at this resort back in October and are familiar with the gazebos and the chill out lounge.  We chose the Sunset Gazebo because its a little more private and is close to the Chill Out Lounge.  We ate at the Chill Out Lounge when we vacationed there and it was an amazing meal.  The location is really beautiful and will make for an intimate reception.  I was a bit hesitant with having to select the buffet option at the Chill Out Lounge but have read from some previous brides that it is really good - so my fingers are crossed.  The price of the Chill Out Lounge is $100 per person.  I believe you have to have a minimum of 40 guests.  If you have under that you would just have to pay for $40.

We are getting the lit up dance floor and the sound system but i don't think we need a DJ.  Not sure about the dessert yet.

Have you ladies decided on photographers?  Here is another blog post of photos from a similar wedding.  They are amazing!

December 5th ceremony was at 4pm and lasted about 20 minutes.

Through the hotel and she was amazing. She spoke really good English as well.

3.  Where did you get your maracas from?

I actually got some eyelash extensions before I went down to Mexico and I really recommend them. I found a salon that did them for less than $100 bucks and they lasted about 2 and a half weeks. I don't have any mascara on in those pictures - also really helpful if you plan on doing a trash the dress because you don't have to worry about mascara running.

Hi Amanda!

Thanks for all your details, its so helpful to hear all of this information since youve been to the resort. Do you mind me asking which package you are choosing with the resort? My fiance and I are also going to go to Toronto City Hall to get our papers signed here and then do the symbolic wedding at the resort. We werent sure which package would be best for us since we were getting married here first!

You mentioned that if you have under 40 people for the chill out lounge you have to pay for $40? Did you mean you just pay $40 dollars if you have less than 40 people? We are considering the chill out lounge, but we are not sure if we will have 40 people - we are sitting between 30-40 at the moment.

I've never been to the resort, so I guess it is a little hard to imagine everything there without actually seeing it. Could you tell me the if the Riviera Gazebo is very public/on the beach? I had some reservations about booking it because in some photos I've seen you can see the beach loungers right beside the gazebo!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
