Thank you so much for the photo's they are just what I needed to see! What wedding package did you go with? I was thinking about a semi-private dinner at the Thai place then just head to one of the bars for drinks. What would you have spent the most money one looking back and did you use their photographer? If you already posted a review I will search for it or send it along to me! Thanks so much for your time!!!!

Hey, we just secured all of our details for our upcoming wedding at GSP. We found the most expensive aspect was the private event. We have a private hall and private gala meal for our reception with a stereo system and dance. Even though it's Mexico we still wanted that wedding "feel" and wanted it to be just our group for a night! They really get you on the open bar as it is 32 dollars PER person (at an all inclusive resort!) so we didn't do that. Beer and wine come with the meal anyway so we are sticking with that then ofcourse pop and juices. we figured come 10-11 o'clock well hit up one of the resort bars anyway, but until then everyone is happy with wine and beer :) I've looked at the photographer and I think I might go with the package for $850. They take pics of the bride and groom getting ready, the ceremony and then photos with family and friends on the beach. Some of the more expensive packages include the reception as well but we have some guests that will be covering that. Those are the main thing I've run into so far!

Hi Dwenski16,

No problem for the photos if you need everything else just let me know... I had keep everything, every emails...

I took the Princess package but it's for 20 and we were 45... So I have to pay extra for the 25 persons...4.00 per person for the cake and 10.00 per person for the toast... Than we took the chill out party it was 100.00$ per person x 45+2(photographer). Than the dj for 4 hours 650.00$. I took 2 outside photographers 80.00 each for a day pass (First she told me 80.00 than it was 200.00 each but I had proof the her with her email and she said ok 80.00 each... Be carefull) + my bridesmaids flowers and my boys boutoniere 60.00.

For the photographer for me it was almost the more important I took photosincancun, Derek and Lorena...

The photographers at the hotel are goods but me I want a lot of pictures of my day... And it was 1500.00 for 90 pictures only... Than you have to ask them to by the cd of all the pictures I think it could be arround 500.00 and 1000.00 more... Me it cost 2000.00 for to photographers for all day... Before wedding Derek goes with the guys and Lorena with the girls geeting ready, than the ceremony, than wedding group photos, family, couple, on the beach, all my guest also get theire familly portraits, than brides and groom all over the resort, than the evening  dancing cake dinner, speech ect... I finnally have 3300 photos and 120 edits.

By the way the chill out seem expensive but everybody said the food was delicious, and all week I saw 2 wedding at the same time in the same restaurant it's not funny always when a wedding was asking for kiss the other follow...

I hate that they take a lots of weddings in the same day... I was having my ceremony at 3h00 and have to leave the gazebo for 4h00 because they have an other one...

If I can help with something else :)

Hello brides!

I need some help, I was trying to book May 2014 wedding with Pillar Romero, the wedding manager in GSP. Has anyone dealt with having outside vendors like florist or outside photographer in their GSP wedding. Pilar is somewhat really against this idea as she is trying to charge me $500 per vendor and another $500 per person (visitor). She was getting upset because I was asking if there was another alternative or if they offer the same things I want for my wedding.  So she emailed me saying "So since this moment we will consider cancel your wedding date." PLEASE HELP :( Has anyone dealt with the same problem?

I've booked my wedding for April 2013 at GSP and all I've heard from Pilar is that it's $200 to use an outside photographer, which is what I'm doing.  Here was her response to my question:

Can we bring our own photographer or hire an off-site photographer? What are the rules or additional charges for this? The Hotel reserves the right of Not allowing external music, artists, photographers, videographers and floristâ€s services,  any kind ofr wedding decoration or any external supplier, apply extra charge of $200.00 USD per person. Besides that some clients prefer to bring their own photographer from them contries or contract local photographer and pay the supplement fee to the hotel.

Not sure about a florist and I have no idea what she would mean by a $500 per person charge. Are you sure you're not misunderstanding her or she's misunderstood you?  Hope this helps...

Hello ladies,

For the brides that have already had their wedding at GSP, or those that have been there for a visit can you tell me what the deck is like at the chill out lounge? I read somewhere that the slats are  a bit wide and that high heels get stuck in them when you are walking. I've looked for wedges, but haven't had much luck and have my heart set on a great pair of heels but don't want to be worried about tripping all night. Can someone please clarify?

Thanks!

I'm getting married in December and they are charging me $200 per person (so $400 because the photographer will have an assistant) and I have to pay for their meals too. I'm doing the $100 per person private function so 600 bucks just for them to step foot on the property!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
