Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

All you GPS brides don't worry about anything, once you are there everthing is taken care of!!!  The WC's are excellent, thought not very good at getting back to emails.  They meet with you the day after you arrive and discuss everything, and yes changes can be made at that time.  We were suppose to get married in the sunset gazebo, I changed my mind the day before the wedding and she had me book in the riviera gazebo with no problems at all.  The riviera gazebo is in the open and is far more beautiful then the other gazebo, we had no problems with the vendors being in any of the pictures.  It is less private, but like I said far more beautiful, the sunset gazebo is up against a wall and is cramped and less fancy.  I had everything done at the resort, my flowers, cake, pictures..............I don't know why anyone whould have to bring in anything from outside the resort, everyone is fast, professional, and they take care of every detail so you don't have to.  After out ceremony the resort photographer took awesome pictures of all of our wedding guest, then took us aside for out pictures, his name was Marco and he was amazing the pictures turned out better then I ever expected!!!!  We then moved to the riviera platnium lounge for drinks and such.  If some of your guest have not book platnium, they will have problems getting into these areas.............I definatly recommed platnium all the way!!!!  We had no hidden charges, it was all the way it was suppose to be.  So for all you brides that are in panic mode all I can say is chill out everything will run very smoothly, just relax and enjoy it!!!!  If anyone had any question let me know!!!!

Hey,

Thanks for sending the note!  I got all my details confirmed and am now just waiting for my contract.

Did you get flowers done through the resort?  Does the resort photographer offer a 'trash the dress', if so, how much was it?  Did you get hair and make up done at the resort?

What were your reception details?

Thanks so much!

Heyy Everyone,

How is everyone doing? Anyone having any issues with the hotel?

This weekend I went out with the boys to get them suited up, and to my surprise I didnt realize that all suits stores (black and lee, Moores and Tip Top) all do NOT carry to rent or buy tan, sand or Kakhi colored suits this time of year. They told me it was not the season. They had pants for the boys but nothing for the groom. And what they did have for the groom didnt match the groomsman. I could not believe it. Lucky for my my gf works in the mall and was able to help us find a suit that is coming in Tan later this month, so she got the boys sizes and she will pull there sized when the tan colored pants and suit comes in. Geeezz! Who knew that a suit store would not have every colored suit.

Did anyone else come across this issue??

Since all the Mexico planning is taken care of it is now time for me to take care of the details here. I am having a hard time trying to find funny cake toppers in the city and my jewlery. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know there are cake toppers online, but the end of it all with shipping and taxes there looking to be around or over $50, and that is a little much for me.

Now for all you brides that are getting legally married here first before you go to Mexico, where are you doing your ceremony? Are you making it a big deal or just signing the papers and calling it a day? How long before Mexico are you doing the legal ceremony?

Hey Vancity Bride,

We are getting married by a marriage commissioner just a few days before we go.  It is going to be very simple with just our witnesses because we want our day in Mexico with all of our friends and family to be our actual wedding day.  The marriage commissioner assured me that the document he provides us is sufficient for our proof of marriage and should suffice to receive the honeymoon perks at the hotel (I'm pretty sure your marriage has to be within 30 days prior to your stay in order to recieve these).

Hola ladies!

We just got back from our vacation and I want to tell you NOT to worry!!  My cousin's Wedding was perfect.  Jacqueline ended up being her coordinator after the first two she was dealing with left.  She speaks English quite well and is very professional.  You will work out all the final details when you are on-site and can make changes as well.  They really do work hard to ensure that you have your perfect day.

They ended up at the gazebo in the Chill Out section, which does not look like much, but it was able to accommodate the 60 guests easily and because it is at the end of the beach, the backdrop for the photos was stunning and there were fewer people in the background.  At the front where the couple are is sweetly decorated.  The one setback is that the wedding party stands on stumps in the sand that are uneven through the ceremony, so just know that going in.

They did go for the legal Wedding there.  One odd thing was that their blood was taken in the hallway outside the Gift Shop where there were other people - BUT, this was the first time my cousin did not get even a slight bruise after a blood test!   They were very professional and clean with new sterile needles, syringes, etc...it was just an odd location for it.

Take a deep breath, ladies.  This resort really knows how to do Weddings and are wonderful to the couple.

Lisa

PS - YAHOO!!  You are going to have your best day ever - really!!

I am thinking of getting married here and was wondering if everyone has been satisfied with their experiance.

I am looking at getting married in the states first, than having a symbolic ceremony there. Also, I wanted to chose the princess package but am a little bit confused as to what is really included. Has anyone just skipped the reception portion since the resort is all inclusive and just made a large dinner reservation at one of the restaraunt?

Anyone that has had their wedding here, what was the final total of your entire wedding? I was looking at the private beach party, and that looked like a nice option, I just have no idea what the pricing for that is, or what is really included!

Any advice would help! So lost and confused!

Thanks!

Hello..

I am glad to hear that everything went great. I know it will too. I think its just the stress of wanting everything to go smooth.

I have a question that i am hoping you or one of the other past brides can help me with..DUrning the ceremony..Who controlled the music?? (Your entrance song, the BM entrance song, you and your husbands exit song) Was it the WC who took care of that or did you have one of your guests do that?

Did you use the resort DJ? How was he? Did you send your music to the WC so she could pass it along to the DJ?

I am so confused about the music. I have a list of all the songs for the day that my sister is putting together on an ipod in categories and also on CDs, but i am not sure who is to control those the days of the wedding.. Hope you can help :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
