Hii!

Dont panic just yet. Things will all fall into place. I felt that along with many other brides that it seems to be very unorganzied over there. You just need to keep on them and make sure they stick to there word. My WC has changed once. I was a but worried at the start when the new WC came onboard, but she has turned out to be great.

Just email your new WC with a details about you wedding day, what you are wanting and any questions you have. Be firm.

Regarding the private dinner in the gala room, you have to have approx 40 min to use that room. I have heard that you can pay the extra but im not sure. I am having the hotel do my bouqets and boutieniers and then I have a decorator coming to decorate the reception hall. You can find her onlie at : Flowers byjulieta mexico. A friend of mine used her and said she was great, so I am very much looking forward to having her work with us.

I also saw that posting that a DJ was included with someones dinner, I have nver been told that so that might be a WC giving that bride a deal.

As for photographers, I am using Juan Narravo. I love his work and he is very affordable. Check him out.

I know that things seem stressful now, but just make sure to do your research and ask alot of questions. I have been workig on the details of our wedding since Feb of last year, and just now its starting to be complete.

Hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with :)

Congradulations on all your weddings, getting married in the Caribbean is so exciting!!! I have been reading some of the posts for weddings in April 2012 at The Grand Sunset Princess, and realized that I have received no information from the wedding coordinators at this resort. My wedding is scheduled for the first week in April and my wedding coordinator has changed 3 times, my wedding is only scheduled at this point and nothing else is planned. I have been contacted over the past few weeks by the Weddings manager Pilar and my new WC is Araceli Lagunas and I have not heard her name mentioned on the forum, so that makes me a bit nervous. I was considering going with the Chill Out package at $100 per person which I find quite expensive, so I was really surprised to read that there are options for a private dinner in one of the conference rooms with the DJ included, if anyone can give me more information on this I would really appreciate it. I feel completely unorganized, I have 34 people coming for my wedding, we have been booked since June and the wedding coordinators just started emailing me back. Any information for photographers and a florist would be great as well.....my photographer was coming with us from Nova Scotia and just cancelled.

Ladies,

i'm totally up to meeting up as well... Just not on the April 21 - since it's my wedding date!

i think this trip is going to be epic! :D

on a sad note, my WC Pilar just passed me to another WC Jacquiline...

AND for anyone who wanted an outside DJ or flower decorator:

"can i bring in an outside vendor - DJ with audio equipment? how much would i have to pay for his day pass to the hotel?  Yes you can, however there is a supplement of outside DJ or vendors of $600.00 each.

I would like to bring outside florist for decor, how much is for her day pass to the hotel? Apply a supplement of $600.00 usd if you need any kind of flower decor different to the cataloge that we offer, you could send us the picture and our flower shop can prepare those flowers decor for you."

not happy with this but it is what it is....

Hey!

I  would love to meet up for drinks if you ladies are still free:)  I arrive April 25th though, so if anybody's free that day, I'll definitly be ready since I"ll have been on a long flight from Vancouver with my family that morning!

We've chosen all of our menu options and everything, and have decided on the symbolic ceremony and the Crystal room for our reception.  I"m trying to decide on flowers now though.  I heard about somebody called 'Marvin, from Diseno Floral in Cancun.  I was in contact with a women named Julietta, and she was really responsive at first, but now she's not responding to my emails.  I"m not sure if I want to rely on her.  Have most people chosen flowers from the hotel? Or is anybody using an outside vendor?

i got an email from my WC saying that to bring an outside vendor to do decor/flowers will cost a supplement of $600 to the hotel. + whatever else you're paying to that decorator.....

have you asked your WC about what it would cost for daypass? the above was the reply that i got - i'm not happy about it. i didn't want to go with hotel options....

Hey Everyone!

I think I just realized I'm a 100% care free bride to be.. We arrive April 25th and we have everything booked but I haven't talk to a WC since we have paid our deposit and been confirmed for our wedding day... is that bad? I just thought everything would be taken care of when we got there and I haven't really been worried about it!  I'm not worried about flowers because im doing something different for my bouque.. our photograper is a friend and is coming with us.. and i never thought about a dj.. something I thought would be delt with then hah. Let me know if I should start paying attention or not be so care free!!

I am down to meet you all, I think that would be awesome. My wedding date is April 25, so I wont be available that day. I guess we will all be having our weddings a day or so apart so it might be hard to set a date. But I am sure that we will be running into each other sometime durning that week.

I have to say that all my planning is going great. I just got the contract and Emma is doing great. I am actually starting to feel good about it all.

Regarding the outside vendor fee for a florist.. wow, that is a little crazy. I really dont think thats true. They probaly just dont want you to book an outside florist so they tell you that price. Why would you have to pay 600 extra for someone to come in a decorate a little. I think thats silly.

Well I am sure that everything is going to work out and be great. As I read more and more wedding reviews I am starting to feel like everything is going to come together just fine.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
