Hey Everyone.. hows everyones planing coming along??

Hi bmariex6 - I hope its not $200 to bring an outside photographer in. Thats crazy!! I was told I would have to apy the day pass. Emma did not tell me the prices of the day passes yet cause she said they change with the seasons. She said anywhere from $65-80. So i am just waiting to fine out what the cost is for each day pass.

Speaking of day passes I hope some of you past brides and future brides could help me. I have my Dad and his gf staying at a time share near the resort and they were planing on getting a day pass for the day of the wedding (Ceremony to reception). Now Emma just told me that they have day passes and night passes, and these passes only include the guests to use the buffet and bars. I asked her if there was a way to have them be able to have a full day pass, as he is my dad so its kinda important for him to be there and be apart of the whole day. I dont know what to do?! I cant have my dad there just for the ceremony and not the reception.. I hope they can figure something out for us.

Has anyone had this issue before??

How do these day passes work??

Hello,

I am getting married on January 24th

and I am very happy to have Derick and Lorena as my photographer.

It's about 70 dollars for the day pass but you also have to pay for each person for dinner I am presently at my office but have all the complete information in my wedding book at home. I will provide you more info if you need. Thank you! Sandra :)

Hi Hermi88,

I am doing pretty much the same as you. I am going to Sunset Gazebo, Chill Out for reception with DJ, Symbolic wedding with the $800 package. Now I have a few questions.

At the Chill Out are the table set up outside or inside?

Is the dance on the beach or inside?

How did you find the DJ? Were the songs any good ?

Were your flowers from the resort? Were they nice?

Any activities that you would suggest? or anything else?

Any deals if you paid cash or not?

and last.....any pictures??

Thanks

Roxanne

Hiii Ladies,

Havent seen any action on this thread...I take it everyones planning is going good then?

I just received my contract and Emma did an amazing job. She had everything that we had talked about in the contract, even some details that I forgot that I told her. So im started to have faith that everything is going to work out great.

APRIL 2012 Brides at Grand Rivera Princess..Week of April 20 - May 1.. Lets set up a day to meet up for some drinks!  I know that there is a few of you, so how cool would that be to meet up and combind all of our guests into a huge party.

Hi VancityBride!

I would LOVE to meet up! We will be there from 04/19-04/24.

Our wedding group is doing a beach and pool day on Sunday 4/22,  so we are totally free that day if that works for others. The Swim-Up Bar at the "Party Pool" could be a fun spot to meet up and you can't miss it if you haven't been to GSP yet.

Emma is being AWESOME with me too! (Thank goodness!) We have our whole contract in and the wedding paid for so it is a HUGE relief to have that all done and out of the way.  I've had this reoccurring nightmare that we are going to show up on the day of our wedding to find out they double booked our location by error! LOL! I'm glad I don't have to stress about that anymore! :)

Hi RoxanneL,

The Chill Out club is an outdoor concept with little rooftop coverage.  You have your choice of having the tables set out on the deck OR on the beach.  The same goes for your dance floor. We choose to have the tables set up on the deck and have our dance floor on the beach.  It was fabulous...but I really don't think you can go wrong with that location!

You will need to prepare yourself for a "Plan B" in the event of rain though.  Plan B involves being indoors somewhere else in the resort and they give you a few different options to choose from.  Nothing compares to the Chill Out though.

Heyyy!  Yes Emma is being so wonderful now.. Thank god is right..lol. Trust me I have been having the same nighmare as you, over and over. I keep think something is going to go or being terribly wrong. But im sure its all going to work out.

Ok So we get in on April 21 at nigh, and I am doing my welcome dinner on April 22. But I am sure that my guests wont be up to too much as it will be our first day at the resort, so I am sure we will run into eachother either on the beach or at the party pool.

You mentioned that you have paid for your wedding already? Emma told me to pay when I get there. Do you think it would be better to pay most of it now and then some once were there??

Hey All Brides to be!!

Congradulations on all your weddings, getting married in the Caribbean is so exciting!!! I have been reading some of the posts for weddings in April 2012 at The Grand Sunset Princess, and realized that I have received no information from the wedding coordinators at this resort. My wedding is scheduled for the first week in April and my wedding coordinator has changed 3 times, my wedding is only scheduled at this point and nothing else is planned. I have been contacted over the past few weeks by the Weddings manager Pilar and my new WC is Araceli Lagunas and I have not heard her name mentioned on the forum, so that makes me a bit nervous. I was considering going with the Chill Out package at $100 per person which I find quite expensive, so I was really surprised to read that there are options for a private dinner in one of the conference rooms with the DJ included, if anyone can give me more information on this I would really appreciate it. I feel completely unorganized, I have 34 people coming for my wedding, we have been booked since June and the wedding coordinators just started emailing me back. Any information for photographers and a florist would be great as well.....my photographer was coming with us from Nova Scotia and just cancelled.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
