Hi Jenwhit.. are you also having you wedding at the GSP??

I just read from another bride that they told her No about booking DJ Deromixx. Did you ask if he was aloowed onto the hotel property? When did they tell you it was ok. Cause myself and the other bride are wanting to book him and if they said yes to yourself Im going to make sure I mention that. Because that is not fair. That cant just change there mind when they feel like it.

How is the rest of your planning coming along? Have you heard a response from anyone lately?

I just emailed them this week.. so lets hope we hear back.

So they are letting you do that??  I sure hope I can get it too.. it just seems like such a great way to start off the trip. Im going to start printing and saving my emails now so im prepared. Have you heard back from anyone at GSP lately.. from what I have seen nobody has. I wonder what is going on over there...

ALso, im very interested in the DJ information that you are talking about. That is one of the  problems that Im having a hard time deciding. I dont have a problem renting just the equiptment and pluging in our Ipod, at least this way we get the music we want, but your DJ plan sounds awesome! Please share where you found them and where I would go abouts finiding them.  Will the play the music that I have gathered together to make our song list. How does the first dance and entrance song work.. Do you just give them your ipod??

There's a Walmart not even 20 minutes from the hotel. You could buy the ipod equipment....and return it after the wedding for a full refund

We are back from our wedding on October 21, 2011!  Our reception was at the Chill Out Restaurant it was fabulous.  None of my plans were finalized until I arrived at the resort but everything worked out great.  If you have any questions please let me know.

I will try to post some of the pictures soon!  The wedding coordinator (Emma) was great.  I didn't realize how much time they are with you when you arrive.  There were a number of items outstanding upon my arrrival however our first meeting was 2-3 hours to go over every detail and pick our plan B in case of rain.  On the day of the wedding, she was present from the ceremony time (2:30 pm) right up until the evening ended at 10 pm.

Thanks,

Heidi

I also chose the resort photographer...Lilo.  He was great!  The package I purchased was $1,100 for 90 photos but I ended up paying $200 more and bought all of the pictures.  So the total was $1300 for 90 prints, two albums and 450+ photos on CD.  All photos were available for viewing the next day and the printed pictures and CDs were ready the day after that.

Hi Roxanne,

Yes, I do have some pictures I can share...just send me your email address.  We had 38 people in total and the Chill Out was perfect!  It is absolutely amazing at night and the staff is wonderful.  The entrance way is lit up by tiki torches and the ocean view is great.  We were able to see the cruise ships off in the distance which also helped the ambiance.  We brought our own music on a memory stick and had the resort DJ play our songs.  It was great and the DJ was open to taking requests from the crowd.

We used the beach as our dance floor and everyone kicked off their heels and had a great time.  A word of caution though....I had some difficulties with high heels at both the Riviera Gazebo and the Chill Out.  The bridges and walkways are like a deck with open slats.  It is very easy for high heels to get stuck between them when you are walking so flip flops or platform shoes would be recommended!

I was wondering if you had any pictures of the Chill out. I'm thinking of having my reception there on March 14th. How many guest did you have? What about music what did you do and until what time did you have the party?

Thanks

RoxanneL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
