Hey ladies

Finally back from my wedding at GSP and let me tell you, Emma doesn't  know what she's talking about. I knew her price list better than she did. My wedding would have been a nightmare if it wasn't for 3 of my friends. She gives general explanation, no details, she was trying to charge 600$ me for the CD player at the ceremony. She refused to allow us on the beach for a semi-private unless I took the bar for 2 hours (25$ per person even though the site claims it's 10 or 15$ per person). She didn't even ask for our marriage licence since we got married in Canada first.

They basically tell you yes, yes, yes when you befor you get there and then it's: No, you never confirmed with me. Ladies keep your e-mail, I'd even suggest to print them out and bring them with u when u get there.

The wedding itself was wonderful, since none of the guests knew how the ceremony and reception were suppose to be, it was pretty transparent to them. But I"m pretty sure Emma willnot last long as their WP.

Oh wow that really freaks me out!! Our wedding is December 1st.  I'm going to try and reach her by phone tomorrow and figure something out. I find it so hard to communicate by email, I ask 4 questions and they only seem to answer 1!  I was told that we would have to pay for a sound system on the beach and set up but not for food, I was wondering if we could have reception only at the chillout lounge.  I can't believe how often the wedding planners change! It's so unnerving...

ChristaMichelle and Tammy - I agree with you regarding the vows can we add our own if we are getting legally married????

Kabee55 - OMG I'm getting worried now my wedding is in 5 weeks and I haven't heard from the wedding co-ordinator e-mailed them last week so make sure they have everything they need and still waiting for a reply... sad.gif

Smokey82 - I haven;t used the onsite photographer I've booked Claudia Rodrieguez photography, saw some reviews on here had a look at her website and loved her work so have booked, thought the prices were reasonable and also booked the videographer through her, hope this helps

So I have since found out that my new coordinator has changed yet again, and I have to send all my information for the third time. The good news is, is that I am since finding out all of this new information and it looks like I might be making some changes.

Originally I though that you could use the reception dinner from your package another night (welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner) and now I am being told that that is not possible, and that if you don't use it your wedding night it is forfeited. Has anyone else been given conflicting information? We are holding our reception for 43 people at the Chill Out Club so we won't be using the dinner in the package at all. Now I feel that the cost of the package is overpriced as I am not using a big chunk of the costs.

I am also looking into getting married legally here, in Canada, opposed to there as it will save us some money and more importantly, we can use our own ceremony script (i hope, still looking into this).

With all this being said, I was hoping to find out from the rest of you beautiful brides ... What are you doing for your packages? I am now thinking of choosing the 800.00 package and adding all the extras on that I want. I am not sure if it works out better that way as I am still trying to research it all. Has anyone else been through this process already or does anyone have an additional cost price list???

I feel like there is a better way to do this and I just don't know what it is at this point.

How are you doing with your planning Sam and takelly? I hope things are going smoothly. :)

one week till i will be at the hotel. Emma has emailed me twice so far today. All of my plans have changed. When i spoke to her on the phone she had told me that i could do a beach party for 30 people. Now she told me the gala room is also 40 people minimum. She also sent me a price list to pay for the room to have the reception after if we are not doing gala...It starts at 300 to 1000 just for the rental. We have decided on mamma mia and then doing a beach party from 8 to 10. The dj is 832 for 4 hours even if we jst need him for two hours. If we want the audio system it is 600. Im very anxious and nervous about how this will turn out because we are never on the same page and the cost are always different.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
