Hi VancityBride!

I got this great music list from a DJ I was looking into for our wedding. He's supposed to be one of the best DJ's in Cancun and we were thinking about bringing him in for our wedding until we found out that GSP charged $150.00 day pass for the DJ just to get into GSP + we would have been required to pay 15% of what the GSP's DJ would have cost on top of that!  All those additional fees made it a little too pricey for us, but I saved the DJ's music list that he created anyways.  Some of the music on this list is WAY cheesy, but there is a TON of songs listed so it has totally helped me get focused and get an idea of what direction I wanted to go in.  I attached the list below if you want to check it out.  Hope it helps! :)

In regards to the Cocktail Hour. No apps are included.  We were not impressed with the appetizers GSP offered (and they seemed REALLY pricey for what it was) so we decided on an alcohol only Cocktail Hour...somehow I don't think our guests will mind! :)

Hello ladies!

I am not the bride - just trying to make life easier for my cousin who will be getting married there in February 2012!  I wanted to thank everyone for all the posts and detailed information!  I have been able to pass on a lot of information to the bride, thanks to you!!  I had a destination wedding at Sandals Negril, but the planning for that was incredibly easy.  While I do not have anything to offer about the Weddings at GSP (YET!), I was there December 30, 2009 to January 5, 2010, so I have been to the resort already and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Have a wonderful day and happy planning!

Lisa

PS - I know it is tough being so far away and trying to work out all the deets, but the phenomenal ladies here on this forum will be a big help and the resort does so many of these Weddings that it is just another day at the office for them.  You will have a beautiful day and it will all come together when you get there.

Hi Everyone - I've got 7 weeks until we are off and 8 weeks until the wedding can't believe how quickly time is going..... Hope everyone's planning is going smoothly, been busy over the last couple of days, ordered the favours and place cards for the table, ordered lovely blue fans for the women (for the ceremony) and thinking of hankerchiefs for the men (it's gonna be hot waiting in the gazebo), also ordered transport for my dress it looks fab they decorate and personalise it with your name, wedding date and destination address all in your wedding colours (got the tip from the UK forum), bit stuck on prezzies so any ideas would be fab fab fab..... For my MIL thinking a silver compact (she will use this), her boyfriend thinking cufflinks and having them engraved, my daughter (she is 8) earrings, my son (he is 15) thinking aftershave, stuck on my mum so I would love some ideas....

All I think I've got left is order a cake topper and download the music which we have chosen, so I sound organised but I don't feel it lol xx

Tammy & ChristaMichelle - How are things going with you, I'll probably see you both there as we will be there at the same time!!!!

Hi Samantha,

Sounds like you have things well under control and quite frankly it is stressing me out cry.gif.  You are so much further ahead then me! woot2.gif

I have just completed a residential move and job change so the planning for the wedding has fallen a bit behind (oh my!).  My dress just arrived but I still need a fitting and our daughters just completed their fittings for the bridesmaid dresses.  Everyone is getting very excited as the date gets closer and closer but just yesterday I realized that I haven't even thought of shoes!  Lucky for me I this weekend free to get organized!

I thought destination weddings were suppose to be less work????

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
