Hi Roxanne!

I'm getting married at GSP in April of 2012 and we are having it at the Thai Beach Club! :)  I just vistied GSP in July so I could scout out everything and we feel in love with the Thai Beach Club!...Seriously, it's take your breath away AMAZING!  Especially at night becasue they light the whole place up with lanterns and candle light.  Yes it's the priciest option, but it's WORTH IT! :)

Here's what we are contracted for the wedding:

1. Non-legal cermony in the Thai Beach Club Gazebo on the beach:  $800.00

Includes chair set up, podium, basic decorations, Bridal Bouqet, and Boutinerre and coordination service by Elizabeth (who is wonderful!)

2. Cocktail hour:  8.00 per person

Includes 1 hour of their basic open bar. (no food included)

3. Reception:  100.00 per person

Includes a Buffet Dinner (Grill Menu...I have a copy of all the menus they offer if you would like me to send that to you.  Off the top of my head I think the menu includes, Grilled Rib-Eye, Mahi mahi, Shrimp and Chicken for the entrees,  Sides are Baked Potato, Grilled Corn and Grilled pepper and salads include a fruit salad and a green salad.  We subsituted the mixed desert trays for Wedding Cake), 4 hours of open bar, Standard Wedding Cake, chair and table set up, basic table decoration (which is a small lantern on each table) and all dishes/glasses/flatware

4.  DJ and Acrillic Dance Floor:approx $800.00 for DJ and approx $850.00 for the glow dance floor

This includes 4 hours of DJ service, set up, speakers and a dance floor. We are putting our dance floor on the beach right in front of the Thai Beach Club!  The glowing dance floor against the sand looks awesome!

5.  Extra Bridesmaid Bouquets:  $45.00  per bouquet

6.  Extra Boutinerre:  $15.00 per Boutinerre

I have some pictures of the Thai Beach Club that I took while I was there if you want me to try to send them to you...but honestly, the pictures do not do the place justice.  It's fabulous! :)

Let me know if you have anymore questions! I'm happy to help!

WIth the Thai Beach clud i have seen the pics and it does look amazing. Are you just having you dinner there and then party on the beach?  Do you know how many ppl the thai club will hold. And with the $100/pp does that mean that its a private dinner? How long do you get the use of the resturant?

Hi VancityBride!

We are having the whole thing at The Thai Beach Club.  There is just this space on the beach directly in front of the Thai Beach club that has the perfect amount of room to put the dance floor on.  The Private bar in The Thai Beach club is only about 10 feet away and we are having all the cool lounge furniture that is normally placed inside Thai Beach, put outside surrounding the dance floor. It kinda brings everything together and gives the outside area a really cool club vibe that  I LOVE! :)

I think Elizabeth said that The Thai Beach Club can hold about 90-100 guests (I'm having about 60 people and there will be room to spare)

Yes, if you pay the $100.00 per person fee, it is a 100% private event (That is SUPER important to me so I double checked with Elizabeth many times and had her put it in writing...I'm a little Type A ) :)

You get to use the restaurant for 4 hours from 6:30-10:30, but we are extending our reservation an hour in the beginning from 5:30-10:30pm to make room for a Cocktail Hour right after the ceremony.  So for a 5 hour private reservation with open bar, the total cost per person comes to $108.00...which is INCREDIBLE for such an amazing location!

I hope this helps!  :) Let me know if you have more questions!

Hi Jenwhitt,

Wow thanks for all the info I love it. Ok the glow dance floor where did you get that? I was wondering if they had that at the resort. Also what time are you getting

married and are you going to the cocktail hour or taking your pictures? So for the DJ it's $850 and an extra $800 for the glowing floor correct? I would love to see the pictures

LOL!  I know the feeling!! :) It's a BIG decision which is why I decided to go down ot MX and check out everything before hand because I was driving myself (and my fiance) INSANE with worry! It's soooo hard to make these tough decsions when you are hundres of miles away from the site!!

Mama Mia is definitly a beautiful restarant so I'm sure either one you choose will be a good decision. :)  Let's be honest, GSP is an AMAZING resort so you really can't go wrong with any location you choose.

I'll make sure to post the pics I have of Thai Beach/Gazebo tonight so you can check them out.

Hi RoxanneL!

I just asked Elizabeth (our Wedding Coordinator) about it because I saw some pics of a Wedding on-line that had the glow dance floor and I LOVED it!  They have the floor at the GSP but for some reason they don't advertise it as an option.  It's called an Acrylic Dance Floor and you can get if for an additional fee of about $800.00 (so the total approx cost of the DJ + Dance Floor for 4 hours is roughly $1650.00)  Yes, it's pretty pricey but it's worth it in my option.  I'll search through my file of GSP stuff to see if I can find the picture of the dance floor. I'll try to post it this site as well so others can see if if they need.

We are getting married at 5:00 pm.  Right after the ceremony will be taking pictures while the rest of our guests enjoys a Cocktail hour from about 5:30-6:30pm. At 6:30pm we start the dinner and then dancing will go from 8:30-10:30pm.  For noise reasons, they don't allow you to extend the reception time past 10:30pm, so we are going to move our group to the Disco to continue the party until 12/12:30 or so.

I'll round up all the pics tonight and send them your way! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
