Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Hi again TaKelly!!

We are actually having our group meet up at the Lobby Bar on the Sunset Side (I'm sure you will be on the Sunset Side since the Platinum Suites on the he Riviera still haven't been repaired after last year's accident).  The Lobby bar is actually really awesome! It's an open air building (with a roof of course)  has a ton of really of cute couches, tables and loungers. We tried out both the Sunset and the Riviera Lobby bars and we found that we liked the Sunset Side better as it had more of a Lounge feel.

If you didn't want to do the Lobby Bar, you can go to this Bar that has the Live music every night.  This is a REALLY cute area that is right in the middle of all of the ala carte restaurants.  I love this area because it is really fun and lively but it can get really crowded at night so people in your group might not have a place to sit down.

Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

Thanks for all your info.   I just was wondering if there was any difference in the sides (grand sunset/grand riviera) ?? I have booked which side to stay on yet because I am a little confused.  Also, Is the beach as bad as some reviews say it is?   Im also getting married at the GSP in April 2012.. When is your wedding date?

Hi Ladies..

This whole planning thing is soo new to me but I am more than extatic that I have found this forum.  I just wanted to let everyone know that I just came back from GSP as my fiance realized I was having reservations about the resort (or a destination wedding period) and surprised me and took me there last week.  It was beautiful and I was able to talk to the wedding coordinator (elizabeth) who was so wonderful and professional.  There are two Gazebos to be married at: one is in the middle of the beach with all your speedo baring bystanders OR the other gazebo is at the far end of the property  on the beach in the "CHill out" (formerly Thai beach club).  This gazebo is SUPER private as guests need to pay to be in the beach club (and have to be gone by 530).  While I was there, I saw 3 weddings.  We have decided to have the private beach party at the chill out, but was wondering if anyone had eaten there... and what the food was like?? I ate at all the restaurants while I was there except for La Fleur, so if you have any questions let me know.  I also have pictures from the gazebos (BOTH) ... Not decorated, if you'd like me to send them.  There's soooo much to do!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
