So the wedding planning is going great, finally heard from Elizabeth and I am well reassured that everything will be awesome!!!  So our official date is January 26 2012, there are 30 ppl 3 kids.  Does anyone know where the cocktail hour takes place, I was hoping it's on the beach that way friends and relatives will stick around for pictures.  Our ceremony is booked for 4:00 and we are not booked in for supper till 9:00.  We were hoping to rent a catamaran for a couple of hours in between, does anyone know if the WC would schedule this or is it something that we will have to do on our own?  I am also stuck with song selection, we have a friend playing acoustic guitar, but I'm really torn about whether to bring the ipod..............................can anyone recommend some songs?

Thanks all!!!

Does anyone have any information on a semi private reception at the Chill Out Restaurant (aka Thai Beach Club)?  We originally thought of going with one of the A la Cartes but I really like the look of the Club.  Previous posts have mention a cost of $45 / person but I am not sure what it included.  Advice/Comments are appreciated!

Hi we have picked pachel bel in cannon (while guests are waiting), Songbird by Eva Cassidy (walking down the aisle) (someone in the UK forum had this song and I love it), At last by Beyonce (signing) (we've been together for 12 years so I thought this would be apt LOL), Make you feel my love by Adele (signing) (love, love, love this song), Somewhere over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (walking back together) (again love this version). Hope this helps xxx

Also don't know if anyone is interested by I have had a copy of the legal wedding vows from Sabrina, if anyone would like a copy let me know and I send it to you xx

Hi Sam,

I have been trying to get a hold of the ceremony script/vows. I would love if you could send it to me. My email is [email protected].

I love your song selections as well. I have been looking at using songbird and make you feel my love as well. What song are you using for your first dance. I am thinking of using "have a little faith in me"

Hope all your other planning is going smoothly.

I am getting so excited. The time has gone by so fast.

Christa

Takelly,

I asked the same question to the wedding coordinator and this is was her response:

"Regarding your question, the private party could be at the private restaurant that we called chill out the cost for a private party in this restaurant is $100 usd per person, include 4 hours national open bar, and buffet. The second option is at the beach for $85usd per person 4 hours include buffet & National open bar. "

I had my heart set on this resort from previously visiting it however because of the price I may need to look elsewhere.

Hope this helps.

Hi TaKelly,

My Fiancé and I just got back the week from visiting GSP to plan our wedding for next April 2012 and we fell IN LOVE with the Thai Beach Club!!! (now called Chill Out Club) The place is absolutely breathtaking at night and the pictures that the resort provides does NOT do it justice. They light the whole place up so the entire club is literally glowing!  So lovely and so unique!

We are doing a private reception at The Thai Beach Club because we have such a large group coming for the wedding, but to be honest not many Resort guests use the Thai Beach Club for dinner because it costs extra (we visited the Thai Beach club on 3 different nights while we were there and we only saw 1-2 couples on each night dining there) so you would probably be okay to book a Semi-Private Reception.

Let me know know if you have any other questions about the Thai Beach Club or the resort.  We spent 4 nights down there last week and we LOVED every minute of our stay! :)

Thanks for the feedback JenWhitt!  I am still waiting on pricing details from the wedding coordinator but the Chill Out Club does sound lovely.  Did you happen to notice any great spots for a group to meet there (perhaps a pool, bar, etc.)?  Our group is staying in the Platnium suites on the Sunset side but I have never been there before.  Booking a pre-trip sounds like a great idea.  Wish I had thought of it!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
