Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Oh my, I have about 60 guests coming for our wedding. My invitations went out last week and I have had about 20 RSVP'd. Can't wait to get my final numbers so I can continue to plan the rest of the details. I'm not too sure what we are going to do about the reception at this point. I'm nervous to have the reception outside due to the chance of rain at night. So far I am thinking a gala reception or the thai beach club (it's too bad they charge so much for it).

With regards to Mara, I have also found her very helpful. I haven't had any problems getting a hold of her by telephone and she usually emails back within a week or so. I just emailed her and asked her if she could provide me details regarding the ceremony and was wondering whether or not they could do cupcakes instead of a cake.

Going to look at rings today and hopefully order my bridesmaid dresses this week. I'm getting more and more excited as things start coming together.

Hi kelsey,

Thank you so much for posting your review!! I have been scoring the internet for weeks trying to find a review about some one who recently had a wedding at The Thai Beach Club reception at the Grand Sunset Princess so if you wouldn't mind, I would love to ask a couple questions about what you thought about it all! :) :)

For some reason we can't find many pics of the Thai Beach Club so we don't really know what to expect.  Is it a large open air building so you had enough room for all 60 people + a dance floor?  I am concerned about wind/possibility of rain so I wanted to make sure there was a roof that could cover  us all if needed.  We fell in love with the idea of having a reception in a thatched roof building to get the beachy vibe, but also have those cool loungey pieces of furniture outside/inside the building where people could relax in style to enjoy cocktails by the water....but I had heard from another review that the lounge furniture is no longer there?  Did you notice that or doesn't it really not matter either way?

I'm sure all of us GSP brides have heard about explosion that happened in November, :)  so I wanted to see if that impacted your experience in any way.  I thought I had read that the explosion happened near the Thai Beach Club so it made me nervous that there could be a construction zone right by our wedding. eeek!

Thank you again soooo much for your input and congratulations again on your wedding!! :D

I've sent our details and scanned copies of our passports to beautyweddings, and they have e-mailed me back to say they have everything they need, but they haven't asked for our birth certificates?  What legal documentation do we need to take with us as we are having a legal ceremony and we are from the UK.

Also thinking of having our wedding meal at the La Vaqueria  has anyone on here eaten at this a la carte is so what did you think???? Thanks x

Vancity Bride - who are you using for your flowers and decor? Is it expensive?

Thanks xx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
