Sadly, when I'm there photographing a wedding everything goes too quickly!

I did go to two restaurants though. They were right next to each other and shared the same check in place. I believe they were on the sunset side, upstairs, to the south of the center bar area.... if that helps!

And then the wedding dinner was the fon du place... but that's not what we ate.

Sasse! we're doing the Thai Beach Club too, but the semi-private option!!!
Well at least I hope we are, we had been back and forth and back and forth so I finally sent everything to Patricia and I'm still waiting for a response, but she had said that's what I should do and that it was avail for me...which wedding package did you choose?? We originally picked the Royalty package, but are now downgrading sad.gif
It should still be a blast though!

It totally is going to be AMAZING. I just sent Patricia everything as well and was so back and forth on the whole thing. In the end it was important for me to have a private reception and I got the resort to accept my empty seats for the children's rate so in the end it wasn't so bad.

We decided to just do the renewal package, but we will "sign our papers" when we get back.

When do you arrive Suzy?

Good for you!!! glad to hear, because the empty seats are a killer to have to pay if you don't have the 40 person min, I would LOVE to do the total private option but it's just not going to happen! I'm actually pretty impressed that I was able to swing the semi private! lol
We're just doing the renewal pkg now also, had to make up the $$'s somewhere!!! Patricia did just email me back today, so I just have to make a couple amendments and I think we're good to go! One thing is she priced me at $46 per person for the semi private - but my list has $40 per person, so hopefully I can have that taken care of!
We arrive Sun April 25th, will you still be there?? If so we should totally meet up for a drink! :o)
I'm soooo excited, now I just have to work on this tan!

I think that that the semi-private is a fantastic option, it's a beautiful setting and chances are from what I hear you always get it for longer wink.gif I hope you have a great time. I also have the $40/pp....I'm sure they will honor it. Patricia had also sent me the Thai menu, saying I could pick off of that as well.

Have you booked your a la carte option that comes with the renewal package? We are doing the Mexican, the night before....kind of like a mini rehersal party.

We actually leave on the 24th sad.gif So we will just miss each other! Oh ya.....tanning, just have to add that to my list of "to do's" LOL!!!

Awe, we're going to miss each other, that sucks! But I can't wait to see your pics!!!
Are you bringing any decor? I'm not doing much, just a couple things for the tables, possibly some paper lanterns, then I have some starfish and sand dollars, then the BMs bouquets will step in for the floral aspect! lol, but I think that's it.
Thanks for the reminder for the a la carte, I had totally forgot that the Renewal even included a dinner, so I'll have to add that into my amendment as well, lol we'll prob use it as a mini rehearsal too, and there are a few birthday's happening while we're there so that will be a good chance to party some more!
I have to create my "list to do" maybe then I might actually get something done!!!!! lol
Starting to freak out a little!
You must be just going crazy with anticipation! Can't Wait! :)

Hey Everyone.

My Fiance and I are getting married at the GSP on April 12! - 2 weeks from today!

We have booked La Fondue for our reception party as we are having a more formal reception up in Canada a few months after we return.

We do not have the restaurant to ourselves and there are 35 of us that will be in attendance. Apparently they block off the area a little bit so it is kind of semi private.

I have a few questions though, that Patrica could not answer because she did not understand.

  • Is it possible to do speeches at the reception dinner? I'm worried the background noise will be to loud.
  • Where would my wife and I do our first dance? Is it common to do this in the restaurant? As well the Father/Daughter Mother/Son dance?
  • Will they allow us to bring an ipod and dock into the restuarant and play it over the course of the dinner?

I have seen plenty of weddings with on vacation, but i have never witnessed a reception while away.

If anyone has tips please send them along!!!

thanks!

I'm just doing simple table decor.....some chargers, with some turquoise sand I got from Bowrings, along with a few candles and some shells from dollarama. I don't want to bring anything breakable.

Yes everything is happening so quickly.....I have had to say just screw it on a few things cause I don't have enought time...LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
