I did not dodge the stress...

I have read all of the threads about people's best friends and close family members who were ALL ABOUT coming to a destination wedding eventually deciding not to come. I guess it really does happen to everyone. I know it will all be okay...because after all, I really wanted to just elope

But it just sucks to see your guests dropping like flies...some without even asking for a price quote for the trip.

Thank goodness my FI's family and friends are coming because otherwise, I would be doing all this leg work and planning for a ceremony that no one would come to!!

Just had to vent a minute because my life is about to get more stressful with my final 2 grad classes starting tomorrow...and my full-time job sucking more than ever!! So here is my (silent) scream at my desk this morning...

thanks for listening...it is good to just type it out :)

Vent as much as you want here. I think almost everyone on this forum knows how you feel. I really wanted a small wedding too and thought i didn't care who was there until people who said they were coming decided they couldn't. I was a little dissappointed and hurt. but i got over it and learned to focus on who is coming and making it a great experience for them.

I know how you feel, my job sucks right now also. I have the opposite problem right now. I only planned for 20-25 people and very few even responded to the STD's. Now with only 25 days left, people are calling to tell me they are coming and the guest list is up to 36! My FI has just been inviting his friends verbally and now they want more info. My reception bill has just increased $1,000.00 and I don't have enough favors, fans, etc. But, I'm not going to worry about it. What will be, will be.

I also feel your pain!

Our guests swore up, down and sideways to myself and my FI they would come to our wedding-now with less than 2 months away, they're dropping off.

I feel slightly hurt, but I have to remember it's about him and I...not who is or isn't there.

We're am still going to have a BLAST...regardless! cheesy.gif

I actually had a very exciting moment last night after I felt hurt by some people who decided not to come. My parents and sister and my best friend, along with FI's parents all booked yesterday :) So I will actually have the most important people there with me :) Definitely more excited about the people who are coming, than I am sad about those not coming. Thanks for the encouragement...we are going to have a blast!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
