Seating at Reception help!

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have some suggestions on how to get your guests seated at the reception? I have received all of the RSVP cards so I know what everyone will eat for the evening but I am a bit lost on how to seat them. We have over 50 people attending our event (yikes!). Any thoughts?

I think a lot of girls with a larger group are sitting at several round tables. I've seen really creative ideas with the seating. If the groom is a Firefighter, and the Bride is a dentist or something, they would name each table something to do with those two professions (Molar table, Firetruck table, ect.) Or you could keep it completely simple and not have assigned seating and keep them round tables, just without the "assigned seating" We are only having 22 people, so we're sitting at one long table, so everyone can chit-chat. Also, is your reception in a hotel grill or something similar, or on the beach? The choice is yours really :)

At my daughters wedding I had 120 people and what I did was to have 12 round tables for 10 people each. At the entrance of the reception area I had a table with a nice picture of my daughter and her husband, and little umbrellas (those you get in your drinks) with peoples names and a number on it. Each table had a number too. Nothing crazy, simple but effective.

Good luck!

Thank you everyone for these great ideas! I think I may combine many of these ideas into one. I am thinking a few tables of 12 and doing some sort of simple idea to get people to their tables. I love the umbrellas too! Thank you everyone for helping me with this. I love this site.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
