Tux or suit and from where?

Recommended Posts

Fist off I am a newbie to this site and forum and I want to thank everyone for their warm welcomes on the nebie forum. This is my first posting on the Cabo forum and I hope to have plenty more. Once I start getting information, hopefully I can answer other brides questions. I have not set my date yet but I am trying to work out all the details before I do. My fiance asked a good question and I thought I wolud pose it here. As far as the tuxes or suits, did your future husband and the groomsmen wear tuxes, suits or a tropical shirt/dress shirt with khakis? Also if they wore a tux/suit did you rent it from your home town or in Cabo? Do you have to pay extra to keep the tux for 8 days? If you rented it in Cabo, where? Any input or ideas would be helpful. I don't think I want him to wear a tux but it just seems proper to do so.

Also everyone keeps saying send me a PM. I'm asuming that is a personal message. How do you do that?

Thanks,

Lisa

Ok, I typed this out before - but the page didn't load... so I will try it again (and maybe save the text just in case it happens again!!!)

My FH will be wearing Khakis and a tropicalish shirt (maybe white linen) so I'm not much help for the suit rental.

But regarding the Private Messages - if you go into User CP at the top left of your screen, in the following page there is a menu bar on the left side with options for private messaging, let me know if you have troubles with that.

I am not married yet, but I am asking that my FI wear a tan/ivory suit for the wedding. We went to Macy's on Sunday and found this wonderful suit, but it was not made for tropical weather. I also found some great suits at Zara and Brooks Brothers. Brooks Brothers actually make suits for tropical weather, which is great.

I am wearing a tan linen suit, white broadcloth cotton shirt and brown leather sandals. I love the look of the linen suit, but if it gets too warm I like the way the pants look with just the shirt also. There are lots of ideas on the thread posted above to get you thinking in different directions.

I think FI will be wearing a tan suit. I told him he could just do some tan linen pants & a white linen shirt, but he feels like he won't be dressed up enough compared to me in my dress. I was going to look into rentals because I haven't been able to find exactly what he wants yet.

  • 2 months later...

My husband was planning on wearing a tan suit, with no tie and shirt out. It was soooooo hot that day that he ended up taking the jacket off and he was still sweating. I didn't mind, it's a destination wedding and anything goes, even very last minute wardrobe changes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
