Hi JND,

Rocio emailed me on Monday to confirm the date then said that I needed to now send in my deposit. It's 300 (US). She sent the forms to my travel agent. I need to fill it out then email or fax it to her. If you want, PM me your email and I will forward it to you.

Thanks Ella! I just received the email with the forms. Which package did you ladies go with? I am thinking the diamond so that I can have the "upgraded" flowers and dress steaming. It 300 more. Do you think its worth it?

I can't remember the name of the package but it wasn't the diamond one or the renewal of vows... is it crystal?  Anyways... it's the one at 2000$.   To me, the upgraded flowers weren't needed since we got all of our flowers (except the ceremony table centerpiece) from an external vendor.  Plus, Rocio didn't charge us for getting both of my dresses steamed, and my fiance's suit... considering we were already spending so much $$$ at the resort, she gave it to us for free.

We did the top one (can't remember the name), for the renewal of the vows.  We had decided to get married in the States ahead of time, because the States wouldn't recognize the marriage down there, unless we did a bunch of paperwork through the State Dept.  It was much cheaper and easier for us, because we didn't have to go the four business days ahead of schedule (which was good because we would have had to leave on Easter) and we didn't have to have any guests (witnesses) go the four days ahead either.  Also, because our package was the top one for the renewal of the vows our dress and suit steaming was included!

The only extra flowers we got were for the BM, GM, and my father.  We made the bouquets for the BMaids and brought them...  We were able to take the flowers from the ceremony to the reception and then also gave us rose petals on the tables and battery operated candles for the tables.  We didn't bring any extra decorations (outside of the name cards), and honestly, we didn't need them.  We only sat at the tables for dinner and then we were between the dance floor and the bar!!

They also turned the red carpet (for the ceremony) into rose petals (to match our colors), and then added purple and orange lilies to the cake, free of charge.

Just had to share that we just received our legal paperwork back from Rocio this week!!!  I was scared with the talk about the law changing... but everything went smoothly and we'll be able to legalize the wedding here, in Canada.  It took almost 7 weeks to get our document (apostille?), which isn't so bad.  Rocio had said it would take 6-8 weeks.  YAY!  :D :D :D

Gosh, it's SUCH a relief!!!!  I was scared we wouldn't get it... especially since Rocio had not mentionned anything about the law changing when we were there and when I asked her about it (once I had read about it here on the forum), she didn't really have anything to say about it.

No worries about the message, EllaBaja! Take your time ;)

Ohhhh... can I please take 2 minutes of you guy's time and vent?  I still haven't received my pictures :( :( :(  Ok, I'm over-reacting since it's suppose to take 6-8 weeks before we receive our pictures... and today is our 7-week wedding anniversary (lol).  BUT... when I asked Claudia how long it would take, she said we should receive them the last week of April or first week of May.  Last week, I still hadn't heard from her so I emailed her (again!).  She then said we should get them early this week.  Well, it's Thursday and still no pictures. I don't want to harass her so I'll just wait, but I just can't waaaaaait anymore! It's driving me nuts, I want my pictures now.

Ok, vent over :)  I feel much better now! Pheww! :)

Alright, you're a bad influence, I just emailed her again, hahahaha! ;)

See... I don't want to harass her TOO much... I'm scared that she's not done and we'll just be like, ''Oh, she wants her pictures right away, screw the last 100 we had to work on'', kinda thing... I want them now, but I don't want to loose any quality or quantity...

Let's just hope I get them soon!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
