That's a great time!!

They are pretty responsive... probably a few days. If its more than a week, I would recommend calling them. I would suggest buying a calling card so it's not expensive. Let me know if you need the phone number.

Also, don't forget to check your spam box! When they responded to me, it went to my spam box and I didn't even think about looking there till after I called. haha

Yikes! That is outrageous. I don't have the bouquet prices but I know I've read that you can bring in your own wedding flowers, if it turns out that is how much it costs. Sorry, can't be more help.

Does anyone have any examples of prices of what bouquets are going to cost?? On the website it says that for a tropical bouquet-something like what Chrestena had, was going to cost $500....that seems completely outrageous to me and I am having such a hard time figuring out what to do.

I chose the mayan pearl package in white-so it comes with a white bouquet, but I was going to give that to my maid of honour and get a tropical one for me since you can't substitute, but for $500 I can't justify it.  Anyone have prices from them for this stuff??

Hi Ladies,

I'm just starting to think about centerpieces for the reception, and was wondering if you ladies who are getting married, or who have got married, might be able to shed some light for me. Specifically, what comes with the wedding packages, I'm going with the Pearl packages with everything in white, and have about 70 guests on the invite list so far and doing a formal sitdown reception, haven't decided if we'll do plated or buffet yet either. What are the options for the guests tables?

Thanks a bunch in advance ladies!

Liana

Will you be at the resort before your guests arrive? If so you could meet them in the lobby when they arrive (if you know around what time they will be getting there at) to hand them their OOT bags in person .. Or like normas09 said possibly ask Vanessa if they could make an exception to hand them out a little bit later. What are you all putting in your OOT bags?? I'm just starting to think about mine & will start putting them together this summer .. I'm excited!

Hi KylieD & Welcome!

To answer your questions .. I am pretty sure outside photographers are allowed; do you mean you want to bring your own from home or you want to book one from mexico?? I am flying out my photographer & they were fine with that because he will be staying at the resort for the week.. but I'm almost positive that other photographers from mexico are allowed too. As for the day/night passes .. I'm not too sure how much they cost but I'm curious as well because I may have a couple  guests staying at a different resort that would need the passes for our wedding day. If you hear of anything let me know.. & I'll do the same!

Hi brebuisson02,

I just heard back from Grace and she told me the guest passes are $60us per person. Hope that helps!

Hey all, Just thought I would share some new insight on the decor for the Karen Bussen packages. I was thinking I could choose one of the color options and add a second color through some DIY decorations. Apparently adding decorations to the chairs, space, tables is not permitted. I'm sure it has something to do with the integrity of the designer's vision. Anyway, what you can add color through are programs, favors, table cards. I was a bit bummed about this at first, but the silver lining is that it means less DIY work for me! Just thought I would pass it along.

Liana- I know that you can set the tables up in a variety of ways.  Whether it is round tables scattered about, or in my case I am doing a "U" shape since we only have about 22 guests that is the best option for us I think.

Caseylynn- Thanks for the info on the rose petals.  I will want to order those for sure!

Carlotta- I can't remember how far back your post was about a videographer (I am pretty sure I remember you saying you did extensive research trying to find one).  Who did  you end up choosing?? We are in the process of doing research and want to book one now but we are noticing a very big difference in price and in quality! We can't afford to pay thousands of dollars, but we don't want to go too cheap and get a really bad looking video.  Right now we are finding some that are about 1700 usd, and they make really great videos, and the resort is offering for cheaper, but I don't have a lot of examples from them to really get a sense of their style.  Are we in the right ball park for quality based on what you found? Who are you going with if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Jen, of course!! The videographer is Matias Zalazar, from Indigo Wedding. We found him in January after looking for options. For the same time, other videographers asked us 900 usd!

This is the website:

http://indigowedding.com/

How many hours are you looking for? We have just wanted to have a video like the Chrestena. We talked with Matias and he told me no problem. So we booked him and an assistant for 90 minutes for 400 usd. If you dont book an assistant is 300 usd.  We just wanted to have the before moments, ceremony and after. But I know he has several packages so you save money.

He is an Argentinan guy based in Playa del Carmen and I liked his videos. He is very flexible so you can ask him how exactly you want the video.

For example, in a lot of the videos he has in his website this starts with people talking while a song sounds and mix with some images without words. I prefered to have an structure as Christina's videos, I mean no people talking (except the minister).

We payed the 40% of the total amount thourgh Paypal. He is going to give us our video before leaving Mexico. Living in Spain neither the videographer nor the photographer wanted to pay the high costs of delivering so both are giving us our dvds some days later.

For 400 usd we are going to have 2 videos: one of 4-5 minutes and other longer of 15-20 min

Matias speaks English so you can talk with no problem with him. He is also available for Skype sessions if you want to ask him directly any questions.

Hope to be helpful    ; )

Hi aak2fast4u,

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! It sounds like you have everything almost set! I love your idea of the white party. I was thinking about doing either the fire dancers or the water drum show too but at the Las Rocas location. Are you using the itzaes group? Also, do you know if their is any fire restriction for the Rocas area?

I don't have prices yet but I started making a list of photographers that I like and will contact for pricing. Here is a rough list so far:

Claudia Photo Studio- http://claudiaphoto.com/asociados.php

Pierre Visual Studios- http://www.pierre-wedding.com/

Citlali Rico- http://www.citlallirico.com/#/galleries/Portfolio

Victor Herrera- http://victorherrerablog.com/

Photos in cancun---- http://www.photosincancun.com/prices/wedding-photography-packages-mexico/

Fer Juaristi- http://ferjuaristi.com/showits/andrea.dave/

Juan Navarro: http://www.juanphotos.com/

and of course Del Sol.

Hope it helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
