Hello! It was me. Last year when I booked my wedding at Grand Palladium, Vanessa, my planner, wrote me all the possible options for the receptions. One was to make a buffet but private at La Laguna or Grand Azul. She told me it was for 40 people or more and some posts ago I wrote here the menus she attached at her email.

For what it seems, not only things have changed around the wedding packages but also with the type of receptions. I alredy have her mail and she wrote 40 people and now it is 70.

How many guests have alredy booked to your wedding?

I too am curious about if anyone has done the buffet dinner. Seems like it would be frustrating to have everyone getting up for food the entire time. Cant really have an organized dinner or do toasts (which we are planning to do then). Our list is hovering somewhere around 50 guests and we are struggling with having to pay for a private reception for 10 people more. If it was $50/ person over 40 guests I could swing it but 50x$50 is another story.

Hi Jencadiz,

I understand about things adding up. I think a buffet is a great option. Plus, it can help when people in your party have different tastes. You can taste a little bit of everything :)

In regards to the organization...I'm sure there is a way to make it so it runs smoothly. I don't know how that works since I'm barely in the planning stages. Maybe one of the brides that is closer to the wedding date may help out.

Hi Girls,

Im having a bit of an issue photography wise. All along i hoped one of our guests (a photographer) would do our photos for us, but as its been over a year since he did his last wedding he doesnt want the pressure of doing a friends photos so now we have to find one! Vanessa has sent me the details for the on site photographer, has anyone on here booked with them or used them before? I see you used them for your video Chrestena and I would really like one done too, so working out if its best to go for the package or to get another photographer as they dont have much example wise on their website

sorry i cant help with meal info, we only have about 20 guests coming with us from the UK so will be opting for the meal in the portafino, included in our package price.

thanks for your help girls

Becci I do not recommend you at all the photographer at the resort. There was also a bride here that booked that one and did regre it a lot. She had said photos were terrible. I personally do not lik e their photography style plus they are REALLY expensive. I have booked with claudia photo studio. they have great references at this website plus they are really professional. It is enough to know this seeing their blogs. But there are others ver good as well: Del sol, Gonzalo Nuñez, etc.

Becci, I agree with Carlota that you should look into some outside photographers first.  I can't recall if I've heard good or bad things about the resort photographer, but we decided from the off that we would hire a specialised wedding photographer so didn't really look into the resort photographer much.

The ones Carlota recommended all have great websites which give lots of examples of work.  We were in touch with all of those photographers before settling on Gonzalo Nunez, but found they were all really good at replying to emails and answering my many questions.

Good luck!

Hello girls!

How is it going the wedding preparations? This week I was thinking about OOT bags. I know there are other threats about this but I would like to have your opinion.

The thing is that I asked Vanessa for the delivery after Lauren told it here (thanks for the advice ; )

She told me that they make this from 11 am to 5pm. My guests are arriving from Spain at Cancun airport at 6pm. So between the distance from the airport to the resort, taking luggages, passports control, etc they are not going to be there until 7.30 or 8pm.

So the option of the girls/women see them at their arrival at their rooms is not possible.

But at 11 am the next day seems quite late to me because they are not going to see it probably until they are going to the rooms for changing clothes for dinner.

What could I do?

Other options I was thinking is in giving them personally or ask them to the receptionists... I am not sure if last option is possible. But any ideas are very welcome!

Thanks in advance girls!

Hola Carlota!

Have you asked Vanessa if they can make an exception to deliver them late when you arrive? Or maybe earlier than 11?
Giving them out at reception sounds also like a good idea--- when are most of your guests arriving?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
