Hi Meg,

I paid back in April, but here's what I remember. I think she sends you some forms to fill out. I filled those out and it asks for your credit card number. There's something on those forms that you usually have to fill out when you normally give people you credit card info that wasn't there. It was either the cardholder's name or the expiry date. I just added that on to the form myself. I faxed it to her, and she got it, and then asked me to send me photocopies of the front and back of the credit card and also my drivers license. This is so sketchy - I was so nervous that I would enter the fax number in wrong and it would go to some "random" place in Mexico. I didn't though. I phoned the next day to make sure they got the fax and Erika told me that they had it, and my date was reserved. And omg that date it coming up in a month!!! Hope that helps.

Hey Meg,

I was also nervous about this. I scanned it and e-mailed the information with the completed contract to her. Same as above post, they needed a copy front and back of credit card (for signatures) and also drivers license of cardholder.

I then confirmed with her via e-mail to make sure she received it and all was good.

Funny how quick the response when the deposit is involved...

although I suppose it is a good thing to get that out of the way so the date is held officially for the right person.

Congrats on setting an official date!

thanks guys!

Yeah, that definitely sounds a bit sketchy.. but it sounds like it worked out fine for you two. Whatever it takes to reserve my date I guess!

I'm sure once my deposit is paid, the email response time will slow right down, haha.

That is so exciting your date is coming up Tammikins, crunch time! Can't wait to hear all about your wedding/trip when you get back!

My date seems to far away, but I'm sure time flies while you're busy planning.

Yes, the time certainly does fly by. My good friend got married 2 months ago, and she said the last month goes by so fast that once the wedding rolls around you don't know what hit you! aaah!!!! Anyways, since it seems like I'm one of the next people that are lurking around this forum to get married at the palladium, I was wondering if any of you guys wanted me to find anything out for you - like anything you want me to investigate :P. I guess you can e-mail Rocio, but she might not reply until after I get back (lame joke, sorry). Let me know!

Thanks for the offer Tammikins!

Might be nice to know for sure about deco's at private reception (what is included, what is extra).

Also might be nice to know what the resort does for flowers? I've seen the list on here for Mexico, but I don't know if all the resorts offer the same thing or not.

Only if you can remember! And...would love to hear from you when you get back (well, before then too!).

Hi Christina,

I'll write these down so I can remember to find out. I'm totally wondering about the flowers too, because I want to do orchids in my hair, and I don't want to do the real flowers because they wither pretty quickly in the sunlight, so I have to bring some fake ones with me. The problem is I don't know whether they have orchids as one of the bouquet options and I dont want to get flowers that don't match with what I have in my hair. haha sounds so minor, but we're allowed to worry about these things as brides, right? :P

Anyways, I'll definately find out for you!

Hands down you are allowed to worry about those things! And it is NOT minor!I don't remember seeing anything about flowers specifically to the Palladium.
Maybe this is a loaded question, but have you tried e-mailing the WC yet about orchids for your hair?
Also, there is a sticky thread on mexico flowers with an attachment- you mihgt want to check that out as it does give specifics on what type of flowers are in season (with specific orchids too).

tammikins-I can hardly imaging how excited/anxious you must be right now!!

Are you planning on having any private cocktails? If so, I would be interested to hear how that worked out.

Please post a link to your picts when you get back! I would LOVE to see how everything turns out!

Hi Sarah,

As of right now I'm not planning a cocktail hour. Here's what I know so far: reception at 3:30 at the beach gazebo. then photos, and then private reception at La Laguna. We are not getting a DJ (other than DJ iPod lol) and our photographer is Citlalli Rico from Claudia Rodriguez Photography. I'm very skeptical about using the spa to get my hair done, but for the sake of experimentation, I just might. I'm doing my own makeup too. We are still considering doing some kind of welcome thing, whether its a welcome dinner of cocktails by the salt water pool... not sure yet tho, need to figure out the rest of the finances. I'm so stoked for the photos, and I'll definately post them along with a very detailed account of everything that happened

  • 2 weeks later...

This forum has just been amazing in assisting with planning our wedding!! Wanted to thank all the brides who have answered & re-answered questions for us newbies!

Are there any February 2010 brides out there? We have 52 people booked already! And they are ready for time to fly by & reach the new year already!

Because of the Olympics being held in Vancouver, BC...we were able to swing great deals for 7 night packages!

My Mom is almost finished the bridesmaid dresses, mother(s) & honeymoon dress. Just searching for nice sandal/shoes for everyone & I still have to make the bouts & corsages (silk). A few little things to do too...buy tea light lanterns for reception & material for chairs & table sache.

Costco of all places had the groomsmen's shirts & we ordered really sexy beach pants from underwear.com for only $49.99/pair.

My dress fits me better than the day I bought it... the pilates & butt/hips & thighs workout (Shape mag) must be doing the trick!! Wedding + beach vacation + busy, busy working & coaching= not having my bum sag into the back of my legs!!! YAY!!!

For amazing dresses...beach dresses I recommend Demetrious (Italy..but reasonable $).

We are surprised at our # of guests...not just because we thought it would be a smaller group...but for us having to pay for the private reception...it is frightful when you add up the ceremony & reception price...ekkk!

You would really think that because you have such a large number of people & are bringing so many guests (great tippers too) to the resort that there would be a deal or break in the price! The day only happening once & still cheaper than doing it in Canada (low budget one too) is re-assurance that it's just money & it will be worth every penny! (dollar/thou..lol)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
