I know that Rocio said we could bring a CD of the music we want to use down for her to put into a cd player. I do not know if they will have anything available for iPod hook-up, but at least you can get a few songs on CD, which will be all you need for the ceremony at least. I'm also going to bring a CD with some music for the cocktail hour(s) that we are having, and part way through we'll have my brother (man of honor?) switch out the CD.

Hello Brides,

I am considering booking the Grand Palladium for my wedding over new years 2009/2010 and seem impressed so far with what everyone has written. I am looking for some overall, after all the extras of a separate dinner, costs. I am really just trying to have an idea of what to expect and start saving for.

Is this resort good for kids? How is the nightlife for singles?

Thanks so much,

Janet

I think there is also an additional $900 or $1000 for "renting" the private location (Gran Azul or La Laguna), on top of the $45pp. I could be wrong but that was the impression I was under anyways.

A dinner on the beach under the stars would be perfect!! I'd be all over that if it was an option!

Us too... We won't have enough people to make it worth while renting out a private location. It might be worth it for a large group though.

When are you guys going to book your hair/makeup appointments? I'm thinking I should do that pretty soon....

We are doing a "honeymoon shoot" with out photographer a few days after the wedding and she just suggested that we do it at a different location (I love this idea!). Any suggestions? We are thinking in Playa Del Carmen because there is a beach there so we could get some cool town shots and some beach shots. I'd like some pictures that show Mexico some and not just the beach. Any thoughts?

Tara- I'm sure Tamm will have some suggestions b/c she works down there a lot (you did book with her, correct? I don't want to reread the whole post:). In either case, I was considering going to Xel-Ha park and getting some pictures (they will let you in for pics if you sign a waiver), or Akumal. Playa would be a great idea too! My other current obsession is finding someplace to rent horses so that we can do TTD on the beach AND on horseback (I own horses, so thats why its so appealing to me!). One other idea might be Cozumel? I know it takes a while to get there, but its a GORGEOUS island, so it might be an idea!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
