Yikes! I wasn't thinking about spending that much... Maybe we'll just go with whatever they normally have in the restaurant and just go to Gran Azul afterwards and request some songs. I think I'll leave my playlist-making for the cocktail hour and for the AHR we're going to have!

I'm already spending the extra $$ to have the legal ceremony there (due to my mother throwing a fit about us getting legally married beforehand and then 'pretending' to do it for real at the resort- it was a great discussion), so I'm not wanting to spend too much on 'little' extras like music during dinner!

hug2.gif I know how those conversations go, I had one of those recently when we announced that we were having a Mayan ceremony instead of a Christan one. I learned my lesson. I just am not telling my mom that it is not legal and that we did the paper work at home.

I should have just done that, but now she'll be LOOKING for some way to know if we cheated and did that, and if she realizes it, then all hell will break loose on my wedding day and I DO NOT want that. I'm hoping that, due to the crappy economy, she'll start to feel bad about making me spend the extra $750 to get married down there and change her mind. *sigh* gotta love families!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello,

My fiance and I were engaged this past November at the Valentin Imperial resort in the Mayan Riviera. We are now planning our wedding in the Mayan Riviera Nov 2009 to give family and friends enough notice so if they wish to attend they can.

I am trying to make my mind up between one of the Grand Palladium Resorts and the Grand Riviera Sunset (which I am not too sure about). I was wondering if anyone could tell me the newest to oldest resort out of the 4.

Grand Palladium Silversands

Grand Palladium Colonial

Grand Palladium Kantenah

Grand Palladium Riviera

I really like the reviews on all of these resorts and I like the the guest coming with us (which we think will be about 40 people) can eat at the a lacarte dinning as many times as they want too.

Plus, I have read the reviews on here from other brides and they seem to be for the most part happy with the wedding co ordinator at this resort.

If anyone has any pricing for getting married Civil and reception packages I would greatly appreciate it. Also any other tips would be wonderful too.

Thank you

Hi! Congrats on your engagement!! cheesy.gif The White Sands and Riviera Sections are the newest. The Royal Yucatan Suites (adults only section with added perks) is even newer. The Colonial and Kantenah are the original buildings.

Check out this site Palladium Addict Site Directory for tons of info on the Palladium!

Happy planning cheesy.gif

The Royal section was actually built at the same time because it was part of the Riviera section. Then a little while ago it was renamed the Royal section and given added benefits, including just recently butler service. I am SOOO excited about that. Carla wink.gif

Thanks for the correction Carla! I read about the new butler service yesterday on PA. Awesome! I was already convinced that the Royal Suites was worth the extra money!! cheesy.gif

I posted this on PA but just so all you Palladium brides know, Rocio told me that they allow the bride and groom (not the guests or the wedding party) to remove their wristbands for the ceremony. What a relief! I had been shopping around for a braclet that I liked that would cover the wristband but wasn't finding anything. This is even better!! cheesy.gif

Does anyone know how we should be bringing down the music for the ceremony? Do they only have a cd player or will they have the connections to use my ipod at the ceremony?

LOL I was trying to research what kind of materials the bands were made of to see if I could use heat or oil to get it off! I was SOOO happy when I read your post. wink.gif

They have all of the pricing on Palladium Addict. Here is the link to the wedding section:

Main Wedding Page

The packages prices as well as the "extras" pricing is under the 2009 weddings link on the left hand side. Let me know if you need something else. Carla wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
