Sometimes her replies are really fast and sometimes you have to wait a little while. I think the longest I've ever waited for a reply from her is a week. Did you send the email from your ISP account? I've heard that they can sometimes have problems sending and receiving emails from web based email accounts such as yahoo and hotmail.

FYI I think we have all found out Rocio is super slow at answering emails.... I know, it is super super furstrating. To the bride who asked about sectioning off part of the restaurant, I am pretty sure it has to be 6 or 7pm, not 100% sure, but I believe that is what Rocio told me once. Maybe we could pull together all of our questions here and one person send an email, that way she doesn't get 100 emails and answers none of them... Start posting your questions and we will see if we can all answer together.

I was also wondering what everyone is doing for travel for their guests, are you using a TA, are you putting down a deposit for room blocks? I am struggling with that right now...

We booked our guests through a TA and she arranged the group for us. It's a lot easier (from Canada) to do a pre-arranged package then book everything separately, so we went with one of those. Because of the connections of our agent with the resort and the tour company, she had them hold the space but each guest paid their own deposit. So, we have only had to pay the deposit for the 2 of us to travel. The total payment for the trip is due in November some time.

As for questions

1) how flexible is the dinner time? What if photography takes longer than we planned and we show up late?

2) Is it a choice between 6pm or 7pm, or do they assign the time to you based on your ceremony time?

3) If there is more than one wedding that day, how is it decided who goes to what restaurant, etc. so there are no conflicts?

Jennifer- Rocio told me that it was 5:30, 6 and 6:30 pm as the possible start times for the restaurant reception. For the dinner in a restaurant- you only get the 2 hours that she books you for- if you run late, I think you just have to leave at the original ending time. I think that they put each wedding group in a different restaurant for the wedding dinner- Rocio asked me to let her know which restaurant we wanted, and our wedding isn't for another 7 months, so I think its on first come, first served basis.

We aren't doing the room block- its a good deal, but you have to pay a down payment for each room and then coordinate your guests paying through you. Plus, for a group rate, they require you get 15 rooms- we don't know if we'll have that many people coming, so we couldn't commit to that!

If you have enough people- a group rate gives a GREAT deal!

We are allowing each guest to book by themselves through our TA. It is such a hassle to collect the money and just not a stress we wanted to add.

We are just using a TA as well - all guests will book directly through him. It seemed too complicated to do a group deal b/c we have guests flying in from many different airports and people will also be coming and going on random days. We put the TA's contact info on the STDs and I don't have to worry about anything...

I have a question I would like to know, maybe you girls already have the answer.

Can you have a beach ceremony anywhere on the beach? I would to have it down on the Kantenah end where it is much quieter. wink.gif

I don't know about anywhere on the beach, but I do know that the option where you are actually ON the beach that she presented to me was down at the Kantenah end. I think you basically walk out the doors of the Mayan suites, and right there is the on the beach location that they offer. Its supposed to be gorgeous and really quiet!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
