I agree Lauren, it is so sweet to see the men being such good 'dads' to our pets haha.

Well we went & finished our bridal registry today .. that was fun! Also ordered Corey's wedding band(s). we got a gift card where we could get 2 free wedding bands (for attending some cooking show), so we ordered him 2 different bands (both tungsten, but one is silver colored and the other has some of the black in it). Also had a meeting today about getting a customized wedding band for myself. One of my friends had gone to this lady to get a custom band made and said it was really well priced, only like $300-400, so I went there and the price I got quoted was $1200! A liiiiittle more expensive .. so I may as well just go through Appelts where the engagement ring was bought this way we have the lifetime warranty. Also had to send my engagement ring in today to get it sized - since I have lost weight I had to get the engagement ring 1.5 sizes smaller and they have to ship it away to get that done .. I am without my ring for 5 weeks.. feels very weird without it & I'm wondering how many panic attacks I'm going to have where I think I have lost it! haha.

Noah, I think we will still go with Adrian, and I will likely get him to do the hair & makeup if I do decide to go with them since its only $75.00 more or so.

Carlotta, LOVE the ice cream idea! Super cute .. your guests will love those.

Pamela, we aren't switching resorts after our wedding. We are staying for 14 days, and the majority of our guests are staying only a week, so we will have the second week to ourselves (for the most part). My mom and her boyfriend are planning on booking an extra week too (how strange, spending our honeymoon with my mom & her boyfriend haha!) but they have said they will give us our time alone forsure. We also have another couple of friends who have booked for the 2 weeks too, but they only did so because it was a better deal for them. They've also said they will let us have our alone time. I'm not too concerned about it, I'm sure we will be able to enjoy spending time alone on our 'honeymoon' but it will also be nice having a few people there we know for going out in the evenings, etc.

I also have started thinking about how much & who we all need to tip. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Heres a question for you ladies .. what are your men wearing for the wedding (groom & groomsmen)? I wanted something a bit more casual (I think my fiance would have a heart attack if I put him in a suit in that heat).. so we were thinking dressier pants & a button up shirt (Corey wearing a white shirt, the other guys in a colored shirt). I found out that Moores has linen pants which are light material and are apparently really great for destination weddings. I went in to Moores today to take a look & they barely have any left .. In all of Canada apparently they are selling out so fast and aren't ordering anymore. I have also found linen pants at Le Chateau for same price, but the nice thing about Moores was that I was going to get 50% off everything! We were thinking of buying the guys their outfits for the wedding as part of their gift, so saving 50% is a big amount! Just curious what you girls are thinking about having the guys dressed in and where you're finding stuff?

Sorry for the long post .. today was a productive day for us! Hope all is going well for all you girls. :)

Hi Bre,

Our guys are wearing beige linen pants (I wanted dark brown but Tyrel said no dice since he thinks it will be too hot in the August heat of Mexico) and light white linen shirts.  I ordered them all online and and they fit perfectly for all of the guys because they have a drawstring on them which they really liked.  They were about $60 each pair and then we shipped them to my friend's house who lives in Michigan so we didn't have to pay shipping to Canada and she brought them across the border to my parent's house.  When I flew home last I picked them up.  The shirts we ordered too and they were $25 each and we had them shipped right here.  They came with each guy's name on a tag.  We paid for all of the guys outfits too.  Online through Etsy I also ordered boutonnieres (there is a pic a few pages back that I posted).  With only a month left from today until we leave for our wedding I'm still trying to find a tie that I think will match the girls' dresses.  I've been walking around with their straps in my purse forever!  I only want Tyrel to wear a tie to differentiate him as the groom.  I like Casey's idea of the jacket but he definitely wouldn't go for that for our August wedding haha.

I can appreciate what you said about getting your ring sized and being without it for so long!  Mine was only gone for less than a week and I kept having panic attacks too!  I had to get mine sized up a half size because I just got it sautered to the wedding band (mine was $800 - barf! But it is one of those interlocking ones so I had to go with the same one and Tyrel's is Tungston and was only $120!)  SInce it is a lot thicker being two together now it needed to go up.  I was worried about my fingers swelling in Mexico, but it's a perfect fit now.  It's been soooo hot here lately that we've been practicing shoving them on and off - delicately.  Lol.

We went to a wedding last night and Tyrel was the MC so I was trying to take notes on what we need said.  I'm really nervous now to make a speech to thank everyone!  Any advice?

Hi girls!!

How is the weekend going? Mine perfect, I had today my bachelorette party and had lots of fun!! It was a surprise so it was great too for this reason. Now I am just lied on the sofa as I went to bed really late and today I am sooo tired! lol

I have also got a couple of hours a mail from Vanessa telling me that the Thomas' paperwork is Ok!! Yuhu!! Good news! We expected that anyway but is great to have the official confirmation!

Bre, as Casey and Lauren have said, THomas is using a linen beige suite and white linen long sleeve shirt. In my opinion this are the best colors for the beach. I have seen loads of pics and it suits better that color. My dad is using a linen suite as well but lighter colour, more like the sand.

Some of the guys at the wedding are using this kind of colors as well. One friend of mine had told me some weeks ago that he ordered a linen suite as well.  I think is no necessary, the men use the suite, but if he prefers so... that's up to him.

We all thought that for the ceremony pics and the pics after that at the sand are better with the suit. Then, they would take it off the jacket, because it is going to be really hot!

I have talked about this with my photographer as well and told me that the best are the beige suit and white shirt. She told me that matchs perfect with the colour of the sea and the sand and in general for Riviera Maya.

She also told me that she adviced the same for the woman: to have bright colours such as coral, orange, turquoise, yellow, purple and any colour that stands out at the beach. I cannot be more agree!

Casey, about the buffet you are askingShe is a Mexican girl that got married last year and she told me she made the buffet at La Laguna, so I think she can advice you better. But if I do not remember bad, she said to me that was very good and that they had a great waiters, all the time refiling the glasses, etc and that the guests very happy with the food. But ask her anyway, she is at the facebook group so she could give you more details.

As you she had quite wedding guests, so I think is a great option to save money but being a private reception and with a better quality food that the ones at the buffet restaurants.

We are only 22 people so for me is cheaper to take the 50usd option from the menus than the buffet.

Lauren, great point about what you have asked! To be honest, I think I am going to say sth more or less similar that the welcome postcards says (that my guests will receive at the check in at their arrival to the resort).

That we are very pleased and happy they have decided to come from so far and join us in this day, etc, etc, etc...

I will have to develop the idea. Thanks to remember me one more thing I have to do! hahaha

Vanessa has told me at the mail that I have received today that she has been sick some days because the weather is being crazy during the last days, that they are having rain two days in a row and the sun during other two days, and again rain, and sun, etc... I am worried again!! lol

Crossing fingers for Claire wedding!! Claire we hope you are having a super sunny day!

The same to Jen, but I think she is alredy married now!!!

Wishing to have news about their experiences.

So for not having crazy days and rains, my maid of honour, as the legend says, went on Saturday to offer eggs to Santa Clara. I am going to post some pictures at the Fb group. We have planned to bury knives at Riviera Maya as the Mexican tradition... I want to have this traditions in pics to remember this.

¡Un saludo a todas!

I am hoping Jen and Claire had beautiful weather too!  I am sorry to hear that Vanessa has been sick - and sorry to remind you of one more thing you have to do, Carlota hahaha.  :)  But I am so glad to hear that Thomas' paperwork is ok and that you had a great time at your bachelorette party last night.  I can't wait to see the pictures on Facebook of your eggs!!

hahhaha sure Bre!! hahahaha

I am happy double today!! Today I have received the wine and champagne list from Yazmin de la Mora (the outside planner based at Playa del Carmen). She sent to me the list that she has from usual providers she has for the weddings she organizes. I sent it to my dad and he has phoned me now.

He has decided to take one red wine and other white (all Spanish wines) and champagne Moet Chandon Brut. He has said me he is going to pay (500 usd to be exactly) and no way to change his mind. So I am very happy for this detail from my dad.

I am happy too with the costs that Yazmin has sent me. This are honest costs. Just only 2-3 usd extra for bottle for the cost that is in Spain, which I think is normal because these are no Mexican wines. I am soooooo happy!!

If someone of you want to have the list, tell me to send it to you!

Only that this are about Spanish wines (we asked Yazmin for this because are the ones my dad know) except for the (French) champagne.

Sooooo good news!! Also because I can now start to make my last DIY project: the menus! I had not started yet because I did not know what was going to happen with the wine thing.

Bre, take a look at the linen suites and beige in internet. I am sure you are going to have great costs. Thomas and my dad bought them. My dad found a bargain for his linen suite and linen shirt for only 125 usd. Thomas payed more because he wanted to make it tailor-made as he has shoulder and legs of a rugby player. He played rugby for almost 10 years and he wanted to have a suit to be perfect to his measures.

Good evening everyone!!

Sorry I explained bad. I mean the list of the wines that I have contains all Spanish wines.

The champagne and sparklingk wines are Spanish and French. We decided to take Moet Chandon because we love it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
