Hi Becci:) Thank you! I didn't think the link was working- it looked like it was starting in the middle, but people say it's working! We weren't going with a videographer either- it was the one thing I had cut since we were paying for the trip from NY to Mexico for our two photographers. However, going through this site-again I am so thankful for this site!!- I was on a thread discussing past bride's biggest regrets...and not having a video, even just of the ceremony, was the number one regret across the board. I didn't want that regret-so about a month before the wedding I asked Vanessa if they had someone at the resort, and they do. I e-mailed her, and had to pay the deposit to hold the date via PayPal, which made me nervous, but they immediately sent confirmation of receipt. There are different lengths if time- we chose the basic level for $500 for 2 hours of filming-which comes with the 22 minute DVD you watched. All editing included. I chose my songs personally:) it took me forever to decide! The music they play as we walk the aisle is actually the same song that was played by the Trio. The videographer chose to place the same song (Canon in D) there which I loved. His name was Josef Rios-and I'm certain you can ask for him. He was such a cool guy! We loved him. Typically, he shoots the groom getting ready as well as the bride, but if you notice in line- only us girls are shown primping- poor Josef went to the best mans room as instructed, but my groom and his buddies were already at the Colonial bar having some drinks with their photographer:) Josef was so nervous I would be mad but we said - Gread! More screen time for the girls!! Lol:) the video was done 4 days later and you watch it with him, then pay the balance. He really kept it fun for us- and I love the way he chose to capture all the good stuff at the end, and our second kiss timed with the music- he's good! I can't believe you chose the Lori dress! I was between mine and Lori!! How funny!! It's a beautiful dress and you will look gorgeous!!! I added the diamond sash to mine because my dress (Trudy) came with a flower one I didn't like. My seamstress sewed it into the dress so it wouldn't cover the corset back:) you have great taste!! 8 months will fly by! I can't wait to check back on here to see all the weddings!! Chrestena xoxo

Thank you soo much for posting your video, Chrestena! I watched the entire thing and almost teared up a few times .. I agree with Carlotta I think I'm going to be an emotional mess at my own wedding .. haha. So glad I watched the video because I had been debating if I should get a videographer, but now I'm definitely going to & I think I'm going to get the same guy you did .. he did an amazing job and the pricing is much better than some other companies I had messaged. So nice to be able to have an actual video to look back on & also to show those who weren't able to make it. Congrats again & wishing you all the best :)

Hi Chrestena,

Thank you, thank you and thank you for posting your video. It is so lovely, so beautiful so many things that I really can tell you I do not know what else I can describe it. It is beautiful. And the quality of the video is very good! I have showed it to Thomas and he said the same: it is beautiful and as me is so happy we have booked this services as well.

We decided to hire a videographer  four months ago as we were thinking that we wanted to have a video of our wedding being in such a lovely place and with such an awesome landscape. I did not know that there was one at the resort, so I started to look for one (also for 2 hours, just as you: start, then the whole ceremony and the after).

I was really surprised about the high costs and I was taking a look of so many videographers and the quality of the videos comparing quality, etc that toke me days to decide!! To give you all an idea the lowest I had found, until I found my current one, was asking me 900 usd for 2 hours.... We certanly did not want to spend that money... Then I found an Argentinan guy based at Playa del Carmen.

We have booked for 2 hours for him and an assistant (I decided I wanted an assistant as well for having all the possible shots) for 400 usd. Without the assistant it is 300 usd. So as some brides are writing here the possibility to have one cameraman I am going to give you the website for taking a look. The qualities of his videos are very good! He is going to give us two videos. One longer of about 20 minutes with the starts, the ceremony and the after and other short of about 5min. Here is the website in case you want to take a look

And here comes the incredible coincidence!!! The camera told me we have to choose 2-3 songs for the videos. For the aisle I am going with the Over the Rainbow song, which I love, and we want it as well for the video and the other one for the final!!

We have still to decide the 3rd song. I have been less busy at work this week and I am on youtube a lot of hours hearing songs. hahahaha

Chrestena, once more thanks so much for uploading your video. There are more videos at Youtube about Palladium weddings, but not so detailed as yours.! Thanks for sharing!! My made of honour, elder sister and one of my witness have alredy watched it and they were saying that is so emotional!!

Christena, I just watched your wedding video and I absolutely loved it! Everything was so beautiful and well done. I really liked the ceremony and your minister. He did a great job! What kind of ceremony was that, legal or symbolic? Other than your own vows, did you write any of it or added anything extra? I'd love to have a similar ceremony. So beautiful!

Chrestena, oh my you're video is wonderful!  You look amazing and totally relaxed and happy.  What a gorgeous ceremony as well, the minister was great - I love his accent! Your vows were really lovely as well.

The music choices were just perfect and really complimented the video beautifully.  We've also been thinking of using Somewhere over the Rainbow, but possibly as our first dance.  Still trying to whittle that one down.

I loved your face in the video when you put the ring on Michael's finger, very sweet!  I also love, love, loved your bangle, it is just beautiful!  I am currently trying to find a statement necklace but finding it rather difficult. I also loved the clips at the end of everyone enjoying the first dance and getting the photos taken.  my favourite is the part where your bridesmaids are all getting ready for the photo and you're splashing away in the ocean - just perfect.

We actually, like you, had said very quickly a videographer was something we would do without, but after watching your video and reading your review we are re-considering now,

Carlota, thanks for the info on the videographer you found as well, we will have a look into both

Hello Ladies!

I am new to your forum, and just wanted to introduce myself.  My fiance (love to say that :) and I just returned from the Grand Palladium Kantaneh last week, and he proposed while we were there!  We are planning on getting married there next May, and I am so happy to have found your informative posts!  We will have guests coming with us (not sure how many yet), and my 9 yr old daughter will be our special person standing up with us.  Other than that, we have no plans, and I look forward to your knowledge!

Congratulations to you all!!

Thanks Carlotta for the information on the rooms!  My mom I think is staying in one of those huts so that will be exciting for her!  And I will definitely take your advice with putting in a request and going to the palladium addicts website.  If I can't figure it out I will be asking you for more details haha ! Thanks so much :)

Oh my goodness, Chrestena if I had teared up before reading your review, I really teared up watching your video!!  I too was dead set against having a videographer - that's what pictures are for, I'll remember.  But not now - now I HAVE to have one!  Your video is incredible!  I hate to ask the same questions over and over again so I will need to go back and read up as I don't quite remember the details since I didn't think it pertained to something I'd need, but I really want to know who your videographer was!  Also, your makeup looks beautiful!!!  You did it yourself right?  So pretty and natural, I just love it!  Again, I'm so glad you had a perfect day!!

Hello fellow brides :)

I'm in the final stages with the GP to set my date May 10, 2014! I can't wait. It's been really great reading everyone's reviews about the resort.

Chrestena- you looked amazing!! Me and FI watched your video and got goose bumps. At first, I wasnâ€t thinking about having a videographer but I think you changed my mind.

newmrskassner- Welcome!! When in May are you getting married?

For those who are getting married in the gazebo, please find a link to a wedding that I stumbled upon on my search for photographer  http://deansandersonweddings.com/2013/03/cam-and-kevins-wedding-3/

The photographer mentioned the sun was out in full force at 2 pm. In the pics the guests have fans which I think are a nice touch.

Iâ€m not sure from the pics if they had the reception at the Lagoon or the Gran Azul. Maybe one of you brides can figure it out?

Happy planning everyone,

Norma

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
