Hi Carlota,

I am sorry you're feeling poor!  :(  I hope that you feel better soon.  If you have to be at home with the flu there is no better way to spend the time than to DIY wedding things!  I really like the idea of the cheap sunglasses!  Cute!  I am wondering where you found the Mojito lollipops?  LOVE those!!  I will be doing some DIY things myself this weekend.  I am going to a friends house and she will help me make some table runners for the tables at the reception.  I have NO idea how to begin, lol.  Thank goodness for our crafty friends.  :) I hope everyone else is doing well with their planning!

Hello Lauren!

Thanks for your words. I am at home today as well and I am afraid that for the rest of the week as well as I have infecion at throat and ears!

Yesterday I was looking a lot of ideas for DIY and other things to add for the wedding day.

The things like the mojito lollipops I ordered thourgh a Spanish website. I write you here the url but I do not think they send things outside Spain. It is like other american websites that I have found in this website where brides are buying things. Unfortunately, this webs do not send anything to Spain.

The website for the lollipops is www.airedefiesta.com They also have gin lollipops! hahaha

I am curious about the table runnings you mentioned... Which material are you going to make it?

Lauren,

I am taking a look now at Etsy I have just found mojito lollipops! These are flat lollipops and here is the link

http://www.etsy.com/listing/62442957/mojito-lollipops-12-dozen

Now that I am writing here I am going to take the opportunity to ask you all aquestion. Which kind of mosquito repellent did you bring last time you were at Grand Palladium? Mosquitos love me and they bite me a lot. Imagine there! Before traveling there, I brought a repellent special for Caribbean mosquitos at the pharmacy.

It was a spray and i put it myself 3 times a day, specially during the evenings. I was the only one from my group that used it and the only one mosquitos did bite!

I would like to know  if you have the same problem as me and if you used there sth that was really good. Grand Palladium has more mosquitos than other resorts and the Caribbean ones are terrible!!

I really suffered with their bites! I am just taking a look now some websites here from my laptop and seeing the possibility to buy another brand spray. I have seen as well a plastic bracelet that you could use at the wrist or put it at the ankle.

Need your suggestions with this!

¡Gracias!

Hi Carlota, sorry to hear you're not feeling well - hope you are better soon!  I have been looking at insect repellent as well because I got lots of bites last time we were in Mexico.  we bought the wristbands but they definitely DID NOT work.  I think they only repel one kind of insect t and in Mexico there are so many!  We have used Avon's Dry Oil Body Spray on other holidays and it has always been excellent.  It is not advertised as an insect repellent but it is really really good!  In the UK it is very well known for this.  I have done some research online as well and lots of people recommend a product called Jungle Formula.  I haven't used it and don't even know if we can buy it in the UK but am going to look into it some more.

I love all the things for your OOT bags as well, especially the lolly pops! I think I'll have a look for those as well.  I'm also going to include a few first aid items in my OOT bags like paracetamols, tums etc as we often need these while away.  Love the deck of cards idea as well, I'm going to copy you on that as well :) xx

Hi Claire,

Thanks for your nice words! Thanks a million for the information about the mosquitos repelents.

I really need a strong one because last time I bought one specialized for the Caribbean and even I used all the time, mosquitos bited me a lot...

I was taking a look about Jungle Formula. I have seen several, are you going for the natural or the maximum? Maximus says it is for places with risk of malaria. OK this is not at the Riviera Maya but I was asking myself if maybe in this way would be better. What do you think?

The Avon product did you use it at Riviera Maya as well? If we have the same "problem" with mosquitos, then I think I can buy the Avon one as well. I have no problems if they only deliver to UK. My elder sister lives in London so she could take it for me.

Thanks about the idea of the paracetamol for the OOT bags!!

I have made other DIY projects, as the welcome cards. I have ordered thourgh Vistaprint. Here it goes:

Sorry again that I am asking. I am taking a look at Avon and there are two types:

Soft & Fresh

Soft & Sensual

Which one did you use?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Carlota,

I am loving vistaprint as well, so far I have made quite a few things ... I will try and post some photos in a minute.

For the Avon, I have not used it in Mexico but have used in other places and always found it to be very good.  My mum and dad used it in Mexico before I'm sure though.  It's worth bringing a few bottles I would say. I usually go for the standard bottle (soft and fresh - it's a white and green bottle)  I think the soft and sensual is much the same though.

It was a while ago I had a look into the Jungle formula stuff but I can't remember if either one was more recommended.  I guess I'd go for the maximum one, it must be stronger I would imagine?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
