Well hello Ladies,

wow, I'm getting close. We only have 12 sleeps until we leave for Mexico and 2 weeks, 3 days until the big day.  I'm getting very excited.

I was having some anxiety as my wedding coordinator was not returning my emails and i was a little freaked out.  I'm ok with week delays when its months away but at this time.. OH well, got it all sorted out and now I just have to wait for the rest when we get there.

One thing I did find out,  everyone may already have this info but I didn't.. one of my stresses... with no reply.

I wanted to make my hair and makeup appointments before arriving and could not find an email for the salon/spa.

If you are interested and if you do it via email you will receive 10% off.  It is not cheap, north American prices. I talked to a Paula Casas at   info.riviera@zentropia-spa.com

She was great, responded the same day and i have booked myself, 2 bridesmaids and my mom.

They do require a 50% deposit for the booking.  She will send you prices and services if you ask.

Was great with all my questions.

One less thing I have to worry about when we arrive.

Anyway, good luck everyone and I will promise to post after my wedding with pictures when we get home after April 15th.  We are spending a second week in Mexico but not at Palladium.  My fiance' made these arrangements and our honeymoon location is a complete surprise for me.

Cheers,

Karen - OMG  soon to be a Mrs.

Hello brides!!

Wow Karenk so few days for your big day!!! Congratulations and I wish you the best for your day.

I have also booked with Paula Casas from Zentropia Spa a couple of months ago. I got the mail address from my wedding organizer (Vanessa). And I completely agree with you, the cost is not really cheap! You compare it with NorthAmerica... for me is more expensive as I compare it with my country!  I think as well is also expensive for all the treatments.

But well, this is for the big day!

I booked a package for 200 usd that includes manicure and pedicure spa, make up and an upsweep hair. I have not decided yet what kind of gathering and I am looking for some photos. I have payed thourgh Paypal the 50% and the rest of the money the same day.

Paula adviced me to go some days before to the Spa with a photo of the hairstyle I want to talk it directly with the hairstylers. I thought maybe they could make a proof of it (in Spain for example this is included on the cost) but it seems here is not included and the cost is 50usd... I have to think about it... So Karenk, please when you return from your honeymoon, tell us how was your experience on the Spa.

These days I am quite busy deciding all the details of the flowers and arrangments for the gazebo, sports bar and la laguna. In case you have not yet a flowershop, I highly recommend you one that told me Vanessa: Floreria Iris.

One month ago I sent mails to several flowershops in Playa del Carmen and Cancun but I found the costs quite expensives.... Ok I know they take advantage so I cannot expect real Mexican costs... but... well I told this to Vanessa and she adviced me Floreria Iris in Playa del Carmen since they have been a lot of times on GP for other weddings.

The name of the florist is Daniela and she really have good costs and has given me good ideas. Girls, in case you are interested you can take a look on http://floreriairisplaya.com/

¡Qué tengáis un buen día!

(Have a nice day!)

Good evening!

Karen K- Thanks for the website for the sand ceremony vases! I definitely like the picture ones so that might just be what I go with!

Carlota-are you choosing to go with an outside vendor for flowers because you are not happy with what palladium offers? I have not really talked about flowers with Vanessa yet.  I know that with my package (renewal of vows the gold package) there are a few flower arrangements included-should I be getting more? Are the prices at palladium too expensive to add more flowers through them or how did you decide to go with flowers from a different vendor? :)

Hello Jengullage,

My wedding package is Diamond and it also includes some arragement flowers but very few. For example one bouttoniere, my flowers, the flowers to the table of the gazebo (just one arragement) and 4 flowers for 4 of the columns of the beach gazebo.

At the beggining I was not thinking in going with an outside vendor, I just asked to Vanessa for more things like this:

-More flowes arragements on the gazebo

-Flowers on the chairs of the guests

- Bouquet for bridesmade

-Flowers on the head for me, the bridesmaid, mom and sisters

- Other bouquet for my dad

- Centerpieces on the table dinner of La Laguna as well as on the the Sports Bar where the appetizers will be served

- Rose petals for the way to the gazebo

So this depends on the quantity and the way you would like to decore with flowers and table centerpieces. So when I asked to Vanessa she gave the cost of the Grand Palladium florist and in the same mail she adviced me the flower shop on Playa del Carmen (Floreria Iris).

I am very thanked to Vanessa because the difference of the cost is quite high.

In case you want to contact the flowershop this is the information:

I have alredy booked with her and I am very happy with her. She has given me good advices and for me a very good point is that she perfectly knows Grand Palladium as she has decorated other weddings.

There is only one "but": she normally takes some days to answer. And I think the website is only in Spanish, but try to write her in English, in case you want to look for more arrangements.

I hope I have been helpful!! If you have more questions, do not hesitate in contacting me again

Hello Ladies,

Carlota, I promise to give you a review of the spa experience.  We are just getting hair and makeup done as I am getting my nails done here in Canada before we leave.

She also suggested we go and chat with the hairstylist before so they know how long your hair is and what you want to make sure they have booked enough time.   I will not do a test as like you I feel it is expensive.  You might want to consider doing one at home with your own stylist and then take pictures.  I have done a few trials with my hairdresser.

Jenjullage -   I'm glad you found something for your sand ceremony you like.  I was so impressed with the frame when I got it.  I went and had a small plaque made with our names & date at a local engraving store and put it on the bottom part of the frame.  Looks great.

I will also post a picture of it competed after.

As for flowers, I am just going with what the resort is offering and adding bridesmaid bouquets.  My groom and groomsmen are wearing short sleeved silk shirts and we decided to put a flower on it would not look proper.  So have opted out of mens flowers.  Also no corsages with the heat I just don't think they will last.  I talked to my mom about it and she was fine not getting one.

I will post pictures of our flowers to fore everyone to see.  I may get one for my hair, haven't decided yet.

Getting super excited.

Cheers,

Karen

Karen I can't believe how close your wedding is!!!  I am looking forward to your review of the spa too.  :)  I made appointments for myself and the moms and my bridesmaids for our hair and makeup (and yep that 50% deposit made it pricey!) but like you I am getting my nails done here at my fav nail salon.  I am wishing you an absolutely perfect time and can't wait to hear how it all goes!!!  Relax and enjoy every minute!

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to share a few photo's from our wedding which took place on Wednesday, March 13th 2013.  We had a Catholic Ceremony and it was so beautiful.  Grace and Vanessa were amazing!  If anyone has any questions let me know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
