Hi all Im looking at booking my wedding at the GP for April 2014. We've been told by our TA here in the UK that we can book on 15th November so only 4 weeks to wait!! :-) Its been really interesting and helpful reading some of your hints/tips and information on planning your weddings!! I'm so excited but a little apprehensive also as never been to the resort so have no idea what to expect. We picked it because of its size and with the hope that we may get to hide away for a few days from family and friends after the wedding day!! Pictures look amazing and makes it all so much more exciting - how far in advance would you recommend booking the photographer. It would be nice to also have it on video so would appreciate advice on this also. Its ages away until my big day but would be good to speak to others like myself and share ideas and advice - keep the planning exciting as can't really do much here...... one question - my Fiance doesn't wear jewellery and so is contemplating a wedding ring (or not) - do you HAVE to have one for the ceremony? look forward to speaking with you all!!

Hey mrst2b, I'm a fellow UK bride, we're all booked up for July 2013 but like you, we had to wait quite a while before being able to book.  We booked our photographer pretty much as soon as we booked the venue but that was more for our budget planning! We've never been to GP either, although have been to Riviera Maya so know it's a stunning part of the world.  I found so much help in this forum (I spent days reading every single page) and also got loads of great information on the palladiumaddict.net website.

We picked the resort for the same reason as you, it'll definitely be nice to get some quiet time during the fortnight :)

Sorry I'm not sure about the ring query and don't think I've read anything online about that similar, but you could always drop the wedding co-ordinator an e-mail to ask her?

Hey Claire! Great to hear from you. Sorry not been in here for a while things have been a little crazy!! Which photographer are you using? I've had one quote but it's around £2000 and we just can't afford that. I know you do get what you pay for but again like you we have a budget! Lol We've been told now that we can book on 15th November so 2 weeks to go and am uber excited, I can't wait. :-) Good idea About emailing the coordinator, although I don't know who that will be just yet. How's all your plans coming along? How much have you had to do so far or is it all nearer when you fly etc?

We booked Gonzalo Nunez for our photographer, it was the one thing we really wanted to bring home with us! It's really close now till you can book - very exciting! You could drop an email asking some of your general questions, I did that before we booked to make sure I had all the info I needed and Vanessa was great as replying quickly.

Our plans are going well, we actually decided on the destination wedding to try and eliminate some of the wedding stresses that can build up so we're pretty much trying to just enjoy getting ready.  Besides the photographer, holiday package and wedding package we have all still to arrange, although we are happy to do flowers cake etc when we arrive.

Next on the list...dresses and suits :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
