Good plan! If this whole email business doesn't work out, I'll do that!

Hi Everyone! I'm new to the forum. My fiance and I are planning to get married in April 2013.

We've booked a trip to Grand Palladium in 2012 to review their services and see the facilities since we've never been there. It looks wonderful in the photographs!

We plan on having our engagement photos taken around the Riviera Maya by my friends Carol and Chris of Benchwerk Photography in NYC.

We may have about 90-100 guests. Perhaps fewer since it's too soon to tell.

I emailed their wedding coordinator Rocio Recinas and she promptly responded to my questions regarding prices. I understand the prices can change. We're planing a Catholic ceremony with Filipino/Spanish tradition of the coin, veil and cord ceremony.

I lost my father to pancreatic cancer this year and wanted to fly sky lanterns over the ocean to honor him. Rocio said it is forbidden and understandably so because it may endanger wildlife, etc.

I wanted the horse and carriage from te hotel room to the chapel but they don't have that service. Only Palace Resorts in Cancun has this service. She emailed me the cocktail ( $12 pp)and food prices ($50 pp-$60 pp)

My question so far: Does Grand Palladium allow fireworks on the beach? Is it a service they provide ? Or do we go to an outide vendor?

I've been waiting on her email too! Sometimes she emails right away and then she would email weeks later. I understand she's busy with other brides but doesn't she have two other aasistants who can answer emails?

I emailed her two weeks ago too.  I sent her another email Tuesday just to make sure she got the original one and I still haven't heard from her.  I have also gotten responses from Myrna when Rocio has been out but I haven't even heard from her.

Hey ladies,

I emailed her a couple of weeks ago and finally heard back from her on Wednesday or Thursday. It seems like she needs an assistant or something! This is crazy. Everytime she gets back to me I ended up having 5 more questions that I reply with, then I have to wait for another 2 weeks before I hear back. It's nuts.

Right now, I'm waiting to hear about table arrangements (number to each table), and wedding ceremony details so I can get my seating arrangements and wedding program worked out.

If anyone has any info about this, I'd love to hear.

For the rest of you waiting, she's taking 2-3 weeks, so if you've waited for a couple I'm sure you will hear back from her this week! Fingers crossed!

Hi Manda,

I haven't heard from Rocio in 3 weeks either. Regarding table arrangements, I plan on having colorful Mexican talavera house number tiles to mark each table. I don't know if Rocio provides the seating cards but I plan to DIY them if she doesn't.

Do you know if they allow fireworks on site? They don't allow sky lanterns for sure. Don't want to set the palapas roofs on fire or tangle up the sea turtles in paper as it washes up on shore.

Pretty tile huh? They come in other colors. I just googled Talavera tiles house numbers and a whole bunch of companies carry them. I plan on just getting them a few days before the wedding events. I thought it's a nice touch.

Love these! What a great idea !

I just heard back from Rocio again about some questions that I had. That's two emails in two weeks... Breaking records here! I have heard that she responds more quickly as your wedding approaches.

Not sure about the pets. Check out the palladiumaddict forum. Not sure of the exact address but you will find it if you google it. It has some good general information. I;d love to bring my dog. Too bad he's a 100 pound labradoodle that loves to get into trouble! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
