Thanks Skewy!  That's awesome!

When is everyone getting married, again?

So, our final payments are due on October 31st.  We skipped invites and made info packages instead.  They are little treasure chests that we made - we stained them, tied ribbon around them, glued shells and fake flowers on them, filled them with sand, shells, gems...  and then we hand burnt scrolls with all the info, rolled them up, and stuck them inside.  We're personally delivering them all.  We have info for our wedding website on there too, which we made through theknot.com.  I'll take photos when I get a chance and upload them!

I have my dress, FH is searching for a suit.  I have my TTD dress, too.  We did our engagement photos this past weekend, I'll share once they are given to us!  FH LOVES zombies and we had a fun zombie photoshoot too...  4 of our friends came and dressed up and chased us around hahahaha.  Interesting to say the least.

We've made reservations at La Laguna for our reception, from 7-11, and are trying to figure out our menu.  I have a list of the excursions (if anyone wants me to forward it to them, PM me your email) and we're hoping to pick 1-2 for the group to do.  We're arriving from Toronto early in the morning, but our Vancouver guests aren't arriving until later, so we're going to have a welcome brunch the next day.

Wow, time is flying by!  We're skipping OOT bags...  trying to figure out favors.  What's everyone doing?

getting married Jan 19. 2012..... keeping everything really simple since we dont have a lot of people flying down with us. just did email invites and have plans to give real invites to those who are coming  with some of the info about the ceremony and a meet the family social, also some info about the resort and things to do.  Not doing any favors or oot bags, since we are holding a reception back home. pretty much just gonna let the natural beauty of the resort and country be our backdrop  :) the only thing im taking with me is my cake topper. most excited for the photos and im not a person who enjoys getting my pictures taken lol :)

happy planning to the rest of u

Hey JND! Can't wait to see the zombie pics! LOL! I'd love to see your list of excursions too :) My FI is in charge of planning the excursion, so I will share it with him.

For favours, I ordered maracas from amols.com. Just ordered them last week. We are goin gto use them as placecards too, so we are either going to write the name with a felt pen on the maraca or we are going to attach a tag... Not sure about that yet. We are also doing OOT bags with pasminas for the girls, sunglasses for the guys, and the other typical OOT stuff.

Have you been able to reserve a spot for your welcome brunch? I asked Rocio about it a few weeks ago and she hasn't gotten back to me. She was really fast communicating for a period of time, now she's not getting back to me again! I asked about having sky lanterns too, so I;m waiting to hear about that.

Manda - can you PM me your email address?  I'll send it to you that way!  I  can't believe you already have 65 people booked!!!  That's insane!  We'll know our exact numbers on November 1st, as our payments are due on the 31st.

I just emailed Rocio regarding the welcome brunch.  Has she gotten back to you yet?

What else needs to be done before we get there?  I feel like I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.  Haha.  Does anyone have a to do list?

She hasn't emailed me back yet ... :(

I think it would be good to figure out how the ceremony is going to go so I can make programs! How are we supposed to know this stuff?!

Just PMd you.

Seriously...  I haven't even thought about programs.  Crap.  LOL.  WTF are we even supposed to put into them!?!  It's funny, we finally got our info packages out just to find out that our flight times have changed...  so one of the most important aspects is incorrect.  Oh dear.  The joys of a DW =P

Emailed you!

Hey ladies,

Just wanted to post photos of our invites (or info packages...  we already knew who was coming).

We bought wooden boxes at Michael's and Dollarama.  Stained them, decorated them with shells, ribbons, and little flowers, put wax stamps on them.  Inside, there are shells, gems, and sand.  We put the info on scrolls - burned them individually and rolled them up with ribbons.  Originally, our invites were going to be regular cards with a sketch of Mexico that I had done, a jewel marking the spot where we were going.  When we scrapped the idea, we kept the image and printed them smaller, burned the edges, and put them inside the treasure boxes.  We have personally visited all of our guests and delivered them!

Anyways, they were a TON of work, but we're very happy with the final result!  =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
