For the bridal party, I made them special bags for the OOT bags.  I also got each of them special earrings and then paid for 1/2 of their hair/make-up at the spa....

Congrats on getting your day!!  It's a wonderful thing when things work out!!!

Hey there Ellabaja

Yeah I can't say that I have ever seen a fire on a beach yet (other than the fire dancers in Playa).  It could be for many reasons like it is already 30 degrees and a fire would just make it hotter ;)  Also the wind coming off the ocean on the beach is pretty strong at times and would need a substantial fire to keep it going. Some weddings light the reception area with them and it wouldn't take much to get a few more for the beach.

Here is some examples:

Congrats on your special day

We're trying to find something to do other than go to the discos after the reception.  We were thinking it would be awesome to have a fire (we didn't know if it was possible or even made sense) or something on the beach...  any ideas?  We just want to relax with whoever wants to join!

After our dinner was over, a bunch of us stayed at the bar right next to where we had the reception/dinner.  A lot of guests actually went back to their room after...  It was about 11:30 and it had been a long day in the sun.  They do also have their "POP,"  People of Palladium, where they do different shows during the night...  but that's a sit down and watch thing..  I don't know what else to tell you...

Most of our guests went back to their room as well after the wedding.  We went to our room to change and it was 12:15, so I guess everyone were just exhausted from the day.  (So were we, but we still had to entertain some of our guests).  We went to the disco... Oh my... worst place ever.  It stinks, isn't really nice and had a bunch of 16 years old, not adults what so ever.  If we were to do it again, we would just go to the lobby bar and hang out.  The disco isn't worth it and no fun at all, IMO.

Maybe you'd want to check it out beforehand, which we didn't do.  We never made it to the disco all week and had written on our welcome letter that we would all meet at the disco following the reception.  Maybe it was just a bad night?  Not sure... but I wouldn't recommend it.

It was at the Riviera, on the right side of the lobby.  So not worth going... Yuk!

We stayed at the Colonial and there was music and animation every night of the week we were there.  Not sure about the other lobbies, but I know there wasn't anything happening at the Kantenah when I walked by 2 nights in a row.

You look so beautiful!!!  I have goosebumps from watching that!

Did you get your photos yet?  I completely understand your frustration, I'd be so upset!

I won't go into details right now, but Claudia has lost some of our photos. I will do a complete review once I find out the final outcome of the situation.  Let's just say I'm a bit frustrated at this point.

Yes, I got a DVD with 3000 pictures.  After going through it, we got about 1100 (including TTD) excellent pictures... althought, we also noticed that all our cocktail hour was missing and plenty of reception pictures.  That's when she told us she had lost them... She's trying to recover some, but I'm still waiting.

She picked the pictures herself for the online slideshow.  I'm not 100% satisfied with the outcome, I'd say 50% of the pictures I wouldn't have chosen, but it's okay and doesn't really matter as I'm picking the pictures for the DVD slideshow.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
