Hey Ladies,

Just came back from Grand Palladium last weekend. We're also another Canadian group of 50 from Toronto. Half our group stayed on White Sands, the other half in Colonial. We had the most amazing wedding! Worked with Erika for over a year. Her and her team are true professionals. We had 50 guests so we had a private reception at La Laguna. The food was really good, no complaints. We requested for menu 8, and we changed up the dessert. We hired DJ Bob who was also awesome. We had a catholic ceremony at Nuestra Senora de las Nieves Chapel.

This resort, the ceremony, and reception definitely fulfilled our dream wedding! All our guests had an amazing time, they were sad to go home

We're going to have our civil in Toronto this week. It's nothing special, we just want to make sure everything is legal here.

Studio 67 also flew down with us from Toronto and took care of our cinematography and photography. They went above and beyond our expectations. Brian and Wanda are so talented in capturing our story. To share with future brides, here's a little highlight video of our wedding day.

PS-To all future Grand Palladium brides, try to provide as much detail as possible to Erika, it makes everything easier for them to get you your dream wedding!.

Hey all!

So planning has kind of sucked the past little while.  Our deposits are due in the next few days and a lot of our guests have been avoiding us completely.  My future in laws are creating a ton of drama (won't get into details but it really really sucks), and we're feeling really frustrated and disrespected.  We knew that with a DW that people may not be able to make it, and we have no qualms with that, we just wish that people would be honest about the situation so that we know how many people are coming, etc.  Did anyone else run into these issues?

Also, I was wondering if any of your guests are using someone other than your TA?  I've had people looking online as they'd like to book later, but apparently they're having a hard time finding flights/rooms in the same hotel.  I have never traveled so I suck at this lol.

For those of you who are in the final stages - would you mind sharing how much your total bill was/is?  And what you did to cut expenses that didn't affect the actual experience?

Thanks ladies!

Boy do I understand what you're talking about!!!  That is the one part that really sucked in the whole planning of the wedding... We sent out STD's in May and our invitations in September.  We didn't have our final guest count until 1 month before our March wedding.  People just waited until the last minute to book... You can't push them.  I guess if they want to come, they'll book... It can be frustrating!!

We sent all of our TA's information... some people still choose to book with someone else and some of our guests even booked random dates, since the price was better, instead of booking the dates on the invite.  For us... it made a big difference since we got a free trip when 15 people booked the same dates as us... Turns out we got one free and we were missing 1 person for the 2nd trip.  Oh well...

Our bill at the Grand Palladium only, not including the accomodation, was 10 000$.  That's for the wedding package, cocktail reception and dinner reception.  We had 68 guests + the 2 of us + 4 vendors.  It adds up pretty quickly...

Hello Everyone,

New Bride here!! Getting married December 2011 =)

Since we have such a big group going, we have to do a private reception.

I was wondering about a DJ. I was looking into prices for DJ BOB and they are very good. But I am wondering if this is some place that we could maybe cut costs and just use my Ipod. But is the one speaker they have loud enough?

I'm looking for a contact address for a wedding planner at the Grand Palladium Colonial. Also, I am looking for a email containing package descriptions, prices, etc offered by the Grand Palladium. Does anyone have this info? If so, could you send it to lefebvre_all@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance !pinkie.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
