We are staying there for a week (arriving on the Saturday, wedding on the Thursday) and then leaving from Mexico to go to Hawaii for our one-week honeymoon.  I'm sooooo looking forward to it!!  :) :) :)

I can't wait to hear how things go and hopefully see some pictures!!  How long are you staying there for??

Welcome Caroline!!!  It's always nice to find other GP brides :)

We have picked La Laguna for our reception dinner.  When I first asked my wedding planner about both location, she just said that La Laguna is surrounded by pools and that Gran Azul is surrounded more by the jungle.  Here are pictures that she sent me to compare them both:

Hope it helps!

Good luck with the planning! :)

I'm new to posting on this site, but I have been reading all the posts, and there is a wealth of info here. Congrats to everyone getting married. We have booked our wedding for November 10, 2011.

Just a question, I'm in the process of trying to decided where to have our cocktail reception. I have been given the choice of La Laguna and Gran Azul. Does anyone know if one appears to be a better choice than the other? Laine described La Laguna as beautiful, but I don't remember seeing anything posted here about Gran Azul. Also, I have received several pictures of flower samples. Does anyone know if they are all the same price, or do the prices vary depending on the flowers you choose.

Thanks,

Caroline

We are beyond excited to have so many guests!  We were expecting maybe 40 at the most!  Such a great surprise to see that so many people are willing to travel so far for us.  It's going to be great.  60 of our guests are staying for the whole week and 5 of them already live in Mexico, so they will be staying for 3 days.

Hello Ladies,

I am new to this site and we have decided to get married at White sands so I am starting all my research. I have a couple questions.

We are expecting 60 to 80 people and I have read that we will need to do a private dinner for that. Does anyone know which restaurants are available for that?

Also do they have the dinner and dance in the same location and can we bring our own music on IPod?

Thanks

Rachel

Hi Rachel!  Welcome and congrats!!

With that many guests, I believe dawn is correct.  Double check with the WC though.

For the music, the dinner and dancing is at the same place for the private reception.  You can bring your iPod and they have the cord to connect it to the speakers they provide.  They also provide a microphone with the other two pieces, already mentioned.

Welcome Rachel!

There are 70 of us at our wedding and we had to have a private reception, since the maximum you can be at one of the a-la-carte restaurants is 40, I believe.  Like the other ladies have mentioned, you'd have to pick between Gran Azul or La Laguna.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
