hey girls i have a question about the beach ceremony..... if we decide to do it is there any type of decoration? some sort of alter/table....

Does the El patio restaurant have air conditioning?

I'd forgotten how beautiful your pictures are. Now that my date is getting closer, I'm even more impressed with your reception. I love it. I see white tents in the background. What are they? They look like perfect lounge areas. I forget did you get married at 3 or 5?

Sorry that I didn't see this sooner to respond. I haven't been able to be online much lately. Anyhow, in answer to your question. El Patio is not air conditioned. We ate there 2 evenings while we were there and it was HOT in there. (It was low to mid 90s for high temps while we were there.) We asked to be seated by the back doorway. It was actually uncomfortable. They had all the windows and doors open in the restauarant. The only indoor restaurant that is air conditioned is Portofino.

The white tents were just tents that people can lay around in. I think a couple of our guests fell asleep in them one night and got to watch the sun rise, LOL.

Hi Gals! My fiance and I have chosen DPA as our resort (changing from The Royal). I have to admit that I haven't made it through all the posts yet (I've been taking notes!), but I'll get there! We're still trying to set a date...I'm hoping this is the most difficult part as it's been quite a challenge! Right now we're working on weighing the odds of a hurricane in late October 2010. Otherwise, we're looking at 2011 =( and neither of us want to wait that long! Any advice on that front is appreciated!

 

I'm also going to be so bold as to ask for a favor. I'd really LOVE to use an actual scenic picture from the resort area for our STDs (view from a room? ocean view from beach? resort from beach?). Do any of you who've been there have a postcard-worthy shot you'd be willing to share with me for this purpose? I haven't looked into it yet, but I'm wondering if the resort itself might allow me to use a picture they have. I'm guessing it would violate copyright laws, but I might as well try asking. Has anyone used their own picture for their STDs?

 

Thanks for all the helpful info! I've spent the last year researching The Royal so now I'm feeling like I'm starting completely all over again. You've all been a great help already though! =)
