Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Sorry trying to reply with a baby on my lap. This is attempt number two haha. I would just email Jacy and ask her. I am a worrier and I have been married before so I just want to dble check. I wish my FI would agree to legally do it before but no go. LOL stubborn farmer. I had heard from people back home here that said I had to get stuff translated before we went and then it needed to go to the Mexican Consulate and we had to take all of it with us but then when i talked to Jacy she told me the apostilled birth certificates, passports and my divorced certificate and it would be translated there for 10 US a page. Seemed much simpler than spending 200 dollars here to send it all over the place. Hope that helps.

Does anyone have a direct email address for Jacy? I've been trying to firm up a date for well over week and unfortunately the response is so slow by the time she gets back to me the date is gone. It's just frustrating!

Also, how did you book your group? I was hoping to do a room/flight together and my Destination Wedding consultant said I had to do it seperately. Really?? I think I need to find a new travel agenthuh.gif

One option to help get your wedding date booked would be to send an email and then wait maybe a day or two and then call Jacy or Sandra (another coordinator). They might not be able to give you an answer over the phone, but they'll at least know that you've been trying, unsuccessfully, to get a date booked. I just bought a calling card instead of using my home phone line.

As for booking, I didn't go with a travel agent at all! It still makes me a bit nervous that people might not get the flights we wanted for them, and even more nervous that the resort might get booked completely... but it was just a better option. There have been some girls here who have found great deals booking their flights separately from the rooms at the resort, but we booked ours together because the rates from Canada were better that way. I think it all depends on the size of your guest list and what you're comfortable with and how much work you can take on. As you can imagine, there's a bit more involvement if you're not using a travel agent, but i've found overall it isn't too bad.

Good luck!!

I booked my group through a TA. You can call all the individual vacation companies seperatley and talk to someone in their group departments. A group quote takes 2 to 5 days for them to get together for you just a heads up. Or you can get a TA to do it. We went through a TA but I think next big group trip we will wing it.

I also booked form a TA and we got good prizes for everything, flight and hotel all inclusive packages. We even had discount for groups and early booking and special services like seat selection and private check in... The TA had to ask Air canada the grocer for a submission. If you TA tells you you can't do it , change TA!

Good luck!

OH thanks , it sounds easier that way! I also heard that we have to make sure to get the english translation sent home from there before we leave because it is cheaper than waiting for the spanish copies here and then have them translated. I guess if I have my original long copies of my birth certificate and my passports I am all set and just need to bring everything there! Takes some stress away! Thanks so much

HOLA FROM DPA!

Hi Ladies,

Well today is our day! We have been here since Sunday. Everything is wonderful. This place is amazing. They can not do enough for us. We had some issues with our room and they have MORE than accomodated us... they put us in the master suite. Jacy is wonderful, we have met with her twice. She is very patient, and answers every little question. If I can get any answers for anyone, let me know. We are here until Sunday. (I DON"T WANT TO GO HOME!)

One little note.... someone earlier had asked if the wedding item prices were the total price. They are not. There IS a service charge on top of the price.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
