It's so hard to communicate by email cuz she takes so long to respond and doesn't always answer questions fully, hence....more questions. I'm so glad I found this forum. It's great to be able to get answers within a day or 2 from others who are in the know. BTW, is anyone staying a second week somewhere else and if so, where and what made you decide on that resort? We are thinking about maybe an adults only for the second week for a little more romantic atmosphere and maybe just in case our friends want to stay on afterwards.

Thx, Jen
Hi Jen,

I too am planning on holding my reception by the adults only pool...Jacy hasn't mentioned any additional costs, but she did say that she couldn't confirm that location until a month before. I should know for sure in a couple of weeks! As for a second week, we are moving to the Secrets Capri resort which is a bit north of DPA...it's an adults only area and it looks amazing!! Just an idea for you...I'll let you know about reception location.

Thanks LP.

I'll look into it. Is it costing you more to change resorts?

Jacy told me the same thing about the availability of the pool area too. The only thing with there that I'm concerned about is if people not there for the wedding will still be milling around and if the setting will feel intimateor not.

Jen,

We've booked land only rates for both places and then booked our flights seperately through Continental. It worked out cheaper that way rather than doing an all inclusive airline & resort booking...hopefully that makes sence! We'll just have to pay for the transfers and they are only included with the full package deal. Continental has some great flight prices from Vancouver!

I haven't decided just yet, the planner sucks and doesn't answer all my questions so...I figure I'll just wait until I'm there to see what I like best and just try to wing it with everything else. I'm just happy that it will be all over with soon because I'm getting tired of my FI's family asking me dumb questions about travelling to Mexico! The lastest was an email this morning about no fly zones and cancelled flights...it's like, go on the web and do your research first before you worry about these stupid things!!!! ugh!!!

Patsah...i know exactly what you mean! I have had a few cancellations already as a result of the so called unrest in Mexico. Is it me or do people not understand "Border Towns"huh.gif My sister emailed me last night indicated my neice (flower girl) may not be going because of all the unrest in Mexico. AHHHH! She didn't even call me to let me know. She is also considering purchasing insurance for packages which tells me she is thinkn of not going. I was so upset last night...

Anyway...there is nothing we can do but just remain patient and tell them to do their own research. No matter who attends...just remember you're doing this for yourselves and not for others. Don't get me wrong...we want family there but if they can't make it...you're still getting married to the love of your life!!!

I understand you are stressed...I am getting a little anxious too, even tho my wedding is just under 4 months away. Bianca, it seems like you have so much taken care of though...way more organized than I am! What do you think you don't have covered / should be doing??

I can TOTALLY relate. I feel like I waited till the last minute on everything. I am still buying decorations, still looking for hair inspiration, still need alterations, blah blah blah. I am so stressing over it and feel like I am doing it all myself since FI isn't really into the planning and I have no bridal party. The bridal nightmares have begun, the most recent, I am standing in the airport in my dress that is falling off and I have no luggage, no decorations to take, nothing. It put me into panic mode. I leave exactly 7 weeks from today, the crunch is on!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
