Are you having a seated reception in the gazebo or just cocktail hour / apps? I think that I would like to have a cocktail hour with champagne and appetizers in the gazebo immediately after the ceremony (which we are doing in the gazebo) and do toasts and the cake and everything there.

We havn't really gotten into the details yet. We are thinking about having the buffett dinner in the gazebo. I think(maybe someone who has been there can clarify) that baracuda bar is nearby. I thought we could do apps and cocktail hour there while they set up the dinner service?

I really was not going to go into the details with Jacy until about end of March. It so hard deciding on things when you haven't actually been to the spot. Most likley I will buy chair sashes, table runners, lanterns and draping so that if we use the gazebo for any part of the cermony/reception I'll be covered. If we decide to do things on the beach only we can decorate the arch with the draping.

I really still have so many questions, but kind of got the impression that its too early to decide on things. BUT you girls seem to be planning these things so I dont know.....blush2.gif

I don't think its too early to think about it... but I really don't think Jacy cares this far ahead. I think for her its easier to just decide everything once we are there or close to the date.

 

On another note... Still no word from Jacy or the GM regarding my email that I sent almost 2 weeks ago.

I've noticed a lot of girls have had to change their mind about this resort because the prices have gone up, If things go up.. they must come down right? When did you book yours and was it a good deal? Did you find that your price quotes were comparable? I just don't want to ask my guest to spend TOO much money.

 

Some other questions.

1. Did you book through a charter flight?

2. Did you book through your airline?

3. For Canadian brides, were you able to get a Canadian quote?

 

I havn't booked mine yet and alittle hesitant if they prices are going to go down.. do you know when the prices go down? if at all?

Any info you can share will help :) thank you

I finally heard back from the GM at DPA. I should get answers to my questions sometime today hopefully... I went on a (online) shopping spree this weekend :)

I got my OOT bags, cake topper, swarovski crystals to decorate it. I think thats it... It felt like a lot more.

Glad that you got a response (FINALLY) Bianca! Plus how fun that you picked up your bags and other goodies for the wedding...What kind of bags did you go with?

 

Rainfall --Welcome! I am not sure how US prices and procedures differ from Canada. There have been a couple Canadian brides that have posted on this thread, so hopefully they will chime in!

Bianca - SO glad you finally heard back. Sounds to me like a productive weekend. We would love to see pics of your OOT bags and cake topper when you get it finished!(like I even need to ask:)) I also(like AlliMay) would like to know where you got them?
