She is also thinking about using small white lights for decoration and needs to know what areas can be decorated (columns, plantings, etc.) I know there is an additional cost to set that up. We are also looking at using luminarias for added light and decoration and need to know how many to order (depending on location). I suppose we could set those up ourselves, if there is an additional cost to set them up. Does anyone know if there is a flat fee for decorating or does each request come with a cost?
She is waiting to hear back from Jacy, also on the colors of fabric available to decorate the gazebo. Her colors are fuschcia & orange. I told her if they're not available - just use white and add colored ribbons, bows and maybe, flowers. She is buying table overlays and using the white napkins. I believe she was told that the chair covers were only available to be used on the chairs in the gazebo (ceremony) and do not fit the pool-side chairs. Do you know if that is correct? If it is, could she have bows on the ceremony chairs and then they could move them to the reception area. Would they look ok just with bows on them?
I found these fabulous orange irresdescent bows on line that she is going to use for the centerpieces. Jacy said to send her pictures and she'll see what she can do. She is hoping to use bird-of-paradise flowers, mixed with others, so hopefully, their florist can duplicate them.
I just got my invitation this week, and they were ones I found on this site. They are so unique and different.
This board has been invaluable in getting out information.
Thanks!!!!

Hi there!

We are having our cocktail hour outside in the sand followed by dinner and then having our reception near the adult pool. They will provide a dance floor free of charge and then we are renting a dj. We were told we couldn't rent out Desire (which is the closest thing to a disco at Dreams) so this was our next best option.

I'm not too sure about decorations yet...I'm still early in the planning process so unfortunately I cannot be of much help there. I love the orange and fuschia color scheme...it will be beautiful!

aug0208- Nov 6, 2009? Oh man! That is great! We are going to be down there at the same time. Maybe if we have the same vision- they can just leave your reception set up for the next day and we can split the costs!!! Kidding, but that is so fun that yours is the day before mine! Too bad it seems like it is forever away still. I keep bugging my FI that we need to take a site visit sometime soon.

We were asking the same question about Desires Lounge and got the same answer. We plan on heading over there after the reception - around 10:30. Does anyone know how large the Lounge is and will it be able to accomodate an additional 35-40 people? I'm sure not everyone will go afterwards, but 10:30 is too early to shut down the party. Also, what kind of music do they play there? Are there any bars in the Marina area that stay open a little later?

The lounge can definitely fit an additional 35-40 people in it. It is really nice inside. There are tons of bars in the marina that are open late but the problem is they are on the smaller side.

Hmmm....when you say on the smaller side, how small are we talking? I know that some of our guests will want to continue well beyond 10:30 that night.
Actually do you know how long Desires itself stays open?? I know Jacy said the reception outside has to conclude by 10:30, but I wasn't sure what time Desires stays open until?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
