Im kind of relieved to hear that there are other brides out there getting married around the same time.. My wedding date is set for May 3rd 2012....just in time for cinco de mayo!!! its going to be a blast! but I have to say I really nervous. did anyone have Sandra Sanchez as their coordinator. what about the ballroom.. we booked the ballroom...any opinions on that?

Also does anyone know of a photographer that is close to DPA?I find Im really picky about my pictures.. among other things, what about the dj... I definetely need suggestions for that.. I love to dance!

Hey Ladies!

 

My wedding date is now booked for May 18, 2012! I'm so excited and busy making my DIY invitations and co-ordinationg travel arrangements :)

 

604bride2b - Thanks for your response to my original posting..........I found some of your info very helpful. When you said that you booked your reception "poolside" is that by the adults only pool? How many ppl are attenting your wedding, do you know how many they can accomondate for a dinner reception poolside? I totally agree with you about having the recption outdoors, but not necessary on the beach. I'm hoping I might be able to book Oceana Grill since I will be there in low season, but I'm not really sure how big the area is.

I too have Sandra Sanchez. She seems really nice and very helpful, but honestly I haven't had much communication with her as my wedding is still really far off. Have you read through this forum? Because there's some great info regarding the questions you are asking. Another girl sai she used the ballroom and loved it. And there's plenty of info regarding various photographers and DJ's that people have hired from the area.

with eight months to go the time is just snailing along. Sandra so far is pretty good too.. better if you know spanish. My travel agent emailed her ahead of time to make sure that there is little to no miscommunication. I made my own invites too.. but I only plan to have a max of twenty people.  I've been slowly worming my way through the forum when I have the patience to do it. I find it  that Im spending more time doing two things. working... and wedding planning. most of that planning is done via email...but i will continue reading and see what I can find. I cant wait for the latest DPA bride to come back and give her review.. I really hope its good!

Hey Everyone! I just got engaged last week! We were already had a vacation schedule for DPA in October so I'm pretty sure that is where I want to have our wedding as well! I CAN"T wait to go and see it! I'm sure I will love it and will hopefully be getting MARRIED there in June 2013!! Any advice about DPA would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Sunsetselene - We are using Moments that Matter Photography (Photography by Lincoln). I chose him because he originates from Winnipeg, which is where I am from. He also used to live in Calgary, which I notice is where you are from. He has very reaonsable prices (I think so, anyways). He is very good at responding to e-mails and always answering any questions you need! You should look at their web site, and let me know what you think!

Hey Lindsay, I personally havent been to DPA but one of my girlfriends just got back from her wedding there and she had nothing but good things to say. She also arranged almost everything before she arrived via the DPA page on facebook. Im sure you will have a fantastic time and congratulations on your engagement,
