Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Adrianne, I really wouldn't worry about the extra questions. I think you'd said that changing over to Sandra was just a recent thing, so she's probably just trying to cover all her bases and make sure she hasn't missed anything in the hand-off from Jacy.

I can say that because we had no idea until last minute whether we'd be int he gazebo or inside due to weather, I just told our wedding party what I wanted as far as the order of everyone walking, the music was handed off to a GM to take care of and the timing for meals etc was all really easy to manage because we'd told the BM's, GM's and hubby's dad ahead of time so they could keep people moving along easily. It honestly all seemed pretty easy at the time!

As for music, I think by default we had three or four songs but that was just by chance. I couldn't decide between two songs to walk down the aisle to but they were back to back on our ipod so I was happy enough that if I got any part of either song it would be right - and it worked! Then we had a specific song for the recessional and that was it. You can always play the same music before and after, just make sure that it's long enough to get everyone where they need to be.

Finally, for the cocktail hour... I recall the "official" paid version including hors d'oeuvres as well as drinks and stuff so maybe that's what Sandra thought you wanted? WE didn't pay for anything and our guests wound up getting champagne at our ceremony and then drinks from Barracuda's outside. Just clarify that you are happy taking your guests outside (or to Desires for bad weather) and don't need the private service.

I really, truly don't think you need to worry! Just be specific about what you want and repeat if you need to and everything will be amazing!

Anyway the reason I'm writing is because I just filled out the wedding questionnaire from Sandra and it mentions that favors delivered to guest's room would be an additional $2 per room. Our traditional favor (maracas) will be given to our guests at the reception but is the OOT bag considered a favor? Was anyone charged for OOT bag delivery?
Hi all-
I had to pay $2 a oot bag. I should of negotiated with Jacy but at the point, I just wanted them delivered!!

Thanks for the reassurance Meghan. Through everything it's sounds like you really stayed calm and collected. Thanks for the tip on the cocktail hour.

My FI tells me to expect that nothing will go right because then if something does I'll be excited.... I'm usually the optimistic one but he has a point.

Janna, thanks for the info we will probably end up paying too... cause I dont want to hassle with delivering 44 bags :)

On a happy note, we had our legal day yesterday (Cinco de Mayo) and they let us bring our dogs to the ceremony.

Hey there everyone,

I'm new here however, excited that there is a forum like this so that we can bounce ideas of each other. Looks like there's a ton of pages for me to go through but I plan to check them all.

We're getting married 10-9-10 and already have 64 booked. We FI is American and I'm Canadian so we have quite the crew coming down with us.

So far Jacy has been great however, I welcome any tips/recommendations and I'll share whatever I can.

Nice meeting everyone.

44 bags is a lot...how awesome to have that many guests come!! I only had 20 bags to assemble and get to people and I thought that was many!! I know $2 a bag is a fair amount of $$, but it was one less thing to worry about and manage. I wanted to be on the beach with my fam/friends then inside delivering bags!!

Congrats on your legal day!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
