Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im just catching up on this thread and wow, leave for a few week and miss so much!

Does anyone know what time the sun sets? I originally had my wedding time booked for 3, reading somewhere that the sun sets around 5-6. Am I on crack?

I would much rather have my ceremony at 5 instead but i want my pictures to be in the sun! :)

Thanks a million!

mwcfarms: I had to book a room for Sascha, and his assistance -- will be costing me 450 USD.

I got lucky and was probably like THE last bride to get away with day passes for outside photographers. They are VERY strict now about having outside photographers stay at least one night at the resort.

I am having my ceremony at 5 and having pics ahead of time. My pal here in calgary is a pho-tog and said the afternoon sun around 4 is a beautiful time to have pics....I wanted a dusk wedding so had to have our pics before.

Okay so I just found a potential loophole that may help some of you on the photography aspect. I'm still waiting to get email confirmation (yes, the email is sent!) but Sandra sounded quite confident in her reply.

IF you choose to make use of the resort photographer (ie. he's still getting the benefits of your wedding), but still wish to bring in your own photographer, then you would only be required to purchase a day pass for your photographer(s) and would not be required to pay for overnight accommodations.

That being said, there are still a few details that would have to be clarified based on your specific situation. We're currently planning just to go with the basic wedding package where the photographer is not included so in my mind, the cost of a room for the night for our own photographers vs. the cost of the smallest package with the resort photographer is relatively close and at least I'm getting a few extra pictures out of the deal too. For those of you that already have the photographer in your wedding package I'm not sure if this would work quite the same, plus I know some of you were going to substitute the photographer for other items in your wedding, but it might be worth asking!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
