Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies, I am having a really hard time deciding on a resort. I love the Dreams chain so I am trying to stick with one of their resorts. I love Dreams Tulum but it seems so secluded. I've heard that Dreams PA doesn't have much to do at night (no bar/disco open late). How close is it to the nearest town where there may be some night life?

Hi MayBride,
From what my TA has told me Dreams PA is about 40 minutes from Playa del Carmen which has some small bars. If you want night life I would stick closer to Cancun. The Dreams Cancun looks beautiful, but the downfall is that is a very large resort. Good Luck!

I guess it could depend on how many guests you have? I am assuming you are talking about music during the reception?

FI and I have 30 guests. To us, that's enough to have a decent dance party. We're going to use the DJ for our reception ($190/hr), because it's only $60 more per hour than bringing an iPod and renting the stereo equipment ($130/hr). It's worth it to us because we don't have much free time to refine playlists and such.

I think you should do what works best for you and the type of crowd you have.

AndreaJane and jgomez - your weddings are really soon! When do you leave?elefant.gif

Gina...we have been going crazy. Well, we booked 32 guests for our wedding and today our Travel Agent told us Sun Country cancelled our direct flights going to Cancun. Yeap...and we are leaving on June 1st. Our guests now have to connect thru Houston from Dallas and we get no difference in fare returned to us. Now Continental Airlines. Stinks!!!

We are taking it day by day but flights are being cancelled due to not enough passengers so be prepared. Looks like the Hotel are being hit hard with low occupancy as well. Don't want to scare you but things keep changing daily.

Mentally Exhausted!!!!

Aaronsgirl...yeah I am definitely not interested in the nightlife, I like my sleep too much :) Its my guests that I am worried about.

I am really trying to decide between Dreams Tulum and Dreams PA. I am really really struggling.

How many on-site wedding locations do they have here?

We leave June 4th for DPA! thanks gina for writing me back. We are going to have a little over 30 guests as well and i was thinking about the same thing for a DJ - i just hope they have a lot of music i want!

The thing I am really concerned about is the ceremony music - i got the ultimate package but swapped the mexican trio for a violinist but Jacy can't give me a list of music the violinist can play.

What should I do about reception music? are you having a DJ then too? what are your music selections?

I also keep changing my mind about where to have everything-lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
