Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies:

I too submitted some questions to Jacy, just a note that I think was mentioned before but is worth repeating, use bullet points for each question when you write to her. I have sent 4 emails recently, 3 that I used bullet points, and one that I sent from my phone so I couldn't. The 1 without bullets never got answered (so I followed up using the bullet points) the ones with bullets got answered in less than 48 hours. So I asked:

-Can you send me a picture of the beach area where the ceremony could be held? And she sent:

It looks like the area right around the lagoon

-I sent pictures of the beach setup I want and she replied that it is possible but an extra charge would apply. I plan on bringing my own tulle though so I need clarification on what the charge would be for.

-I have completely written my own ceremony and wanted to know if this was okay and needed to be sent ahead of time. She directed me to contact the minister.

-Can dinner be held in the gazebo? She stated the gazebo can accomodate a dinner for up to 20 people.

-If I chose not to have the cocktail hour included in my package, can I use it as a credit towards more menu options for dinner? She replied "About the credit towards more menu options, we haven´t had this situation but if you allow me a couple of days I can check into this and will let you know."

I will follow up in a couple days if I don't hear again.

- If I cannot have a credit, what is the cost of adding an entree

option to dinner? She replied "For the Dreams of Love package, the extra cost for a second entree is $10usd per person."

- Your flower guide does not have anything resembling what I want.

I have attached samples of what I would like. Please let me know if these

are possible.

From what I sent she assumed my colors are pink and orange and sent samples of what is available, to which I replied back that my colors are orange and green and I just want some pink accents and asked if gerbera daisies are available. I want to just take a picture of what I want and have it done, what have you ladies been told about flowers aside from the guide she sends because I don't like those.

- Some of the decorations I am bringing with me I would want to take

with me again when I leave, will this be a problem? She replied "Regarding your own decoration, we will have no problem to give it back after

using it."

So that is what I have gotten so far. My day is FAST approaching so as I have more contact with her I will keep you all posted.

That area of the beach looks very pretty. I think that's also where the Barracuda Bar is located. That's where we're having the rehearsal dinner. I'd be interested in hearing more about your centerpieces. We sent pictures and Jacy said they can do pretty much anything we want.

Are you having a legal ceremony or a symbolic one?

I heard somewhere that they pack up your decorations and give them back to you the next day (in your room?)

I believe they have the Gerbera daisies as those are one of the flowers they said we could have and I've seen them in bouquets in some pictures.

Good luck with everything. Sounds like most things are pretty much set for you.

We only have 12 people total so I am going to have the long table set up in the gazebo, I have a colorful striped runner and orange and green bamboo placements for each setting. I bought a bunch of votives at Ikea and I'm just going to line them up down the table and I just want two vases with gerbera daisy stems for a center piece, nothing overly fancy, quite simple really.

We are doing a symbolic ceremony, we are being legally married exactly one week before the wedding date at home in his parents yard (because his parents can come to Mexico).

I'm glad that I can get the stuff back. If I wasn't planning on using it again I'd leave it for other brides but I am using my lanterns again for my AHR.

Things are coming together, I still feel like I have so much to do. I am still doing OOT bags, waiting for Target to get the straw bags again, if they do. I have gifts to buy, but I just did my BD yesterday so that is out of the way. But I am making progress, thanks smile03.gif

I am getting married at PA on October 7, 2009 YAY!

We are going to do a non legal ceremony. Only because of all the added costs and paperwork to make it legal. We are going to get it made legal back home but still the real wedding will be in Mexico.

I noticed that you said Jacy said you could contact a minister to do your symbolic ceremony. My niece & FI have written their own ceremony and just want someone to read it and coordinate the different aspects of the ceremony but I know she definitely does not want any mention of anything religious. Do you think she'd be better off having someone in the family conduct the ceremony? Also, want to be sure that the officiant is easily understood as there is a special wine ceremony that we are having and it needs to be coordinated by someone

Well, I am not sure how helpful he would be in the coordination of it all especially with the long distance communication via email thing, my situation is just the wording I want read, which will also serve to limit the religious aspects of it. We have beliefs but neither of us are overly religious. If it is just a symbolic ceremony that she is having, if it is going to be detailed, she might want to consider having someone in the family or a friend do it. I had thought about it, but my group is so small that I didn't want to remove anyone else from the "audience" so to speak.

Here is the info for the minister if you want to atleast contact him and see what he says: Alejandro Monroy at adriemo15@hotmail.com

She is thinking the same way you are - that she doesn't want to take someone away from enjoying and appreciating the ceremony by asking them to coordinate the ceremony. My brother is a professional emcee, and he is going to announce the bridal party at the reception. His expertise is emceeing grappling (wrestling) tournaments, and she's afraid he'll be a bit over the top for the ceremony. (haha)...

Okay, just a general question for anyone who wants to chime in....I read somewhere on this thread that you should make your spa/hair/makeup appointments a month in advance. Well, I am just over a month, approx. 5 weeks, so I figured I would get the ball rolling and I wrote an email to the general info address to ask about this. I got a reply from the concierge a day later and they attached a "spa menu" and deposit form. Well, I was confused, so I wrote back and said that the hair and makeup appointment that I want to schedule is included in my package, why do I have to send a deposit and now...no reply. So, has anyone had to deal with this yet? Do we have to give a deposit and will that then be applied toward our package? I just think that is a little silly.

Reluctant Beach Bride:

Did you try scheduling through Jacy? Maybe she can set it up for you or direct you to the correct person?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
