I havent even gone to get my first fitting!!! AHHHH! That stresses me out the most. I have gained like 15 lbs since I got my dress and its gonna be a major PITA!!! It was huge in the chest area, but my hips/thighs are the size of Mexico and that is the issue... I havent even tried it on in a couple months, so this whole issue just freaks me out. I saw a commercial for the David's Bridal $99 Gown Sale and I told FI I might be going to that :)... Anyways.... Major things I need to get done:

Welcome letters/info

tags for my raffia fans

programs

menus

MY DIY VEIL!!! <====== Another stress point... I am a perfectionist and I am on the 5th attempt... Might just end up buying one

Tags and ribbon to wrap around the pashminas I have

My DIY bouquet..............................

I think thats it... Oh... and I havent done a damn thing in the past few months...

What are you ladies doing about shoes for the ceremony? I foundmy dress last weekend---YAY!!! And it just hits the floor so I definitely can't do heels. I am in between barefoot, a flat flip flop or ballet slipper of some type...

My girls' dresses are fairly casual--j.crew--very light--so we're going to start looking for them too but I am thinking maybe a dressier flip flop in silver?

Okay on a side note from DPA--has anyone been to the valentin in riviera maya? We are debating going on our honeymoon there? I've heard excellent feedback, but I am wondering about the room options...there are a million and I just am curious if anyone has been there, what room they stayed in and what they thought. We are trying to save money, but at the same time it is our honeymoon so we are trying to find a happy medium you know?!

Thanks, you girls are awesome!!!

I got my shoes from dessygroup. They have lots of pretty colors. They are pretty simple, but I liked that and that they looked beachy. I may add a bit of sparkle to them, but havn't gotten them yet to see what I think. They say it takes 3 weeks to get them( I ordered mine almost 2 weeks ago).

Has anyone ever stayed at the Valentin? This is what we are thinking of for our honeymoon, but I am really interested to see if people have stayed there and what room category they were in? There are so many options...and we want to save money, but at the same time it is our honeymoon you know?! Any info is appreciated-thanks ladies!

I ordered 11 snow white lanterns(5-24in, 3-16in, 3-14 in.), my palm leaf fans and my parasol last night from asianideas.com. I am hoping that 11 is enough lanterns for the gazebo, but Jacy still hasnt gotten back to me on some measurements I asked for. She did say that if I bring my own decor for draping fabric and hanging lanterns there would be no charge.

Also, she confirmed that there is no charge to have the dinner in the gazebosmile29.gif

If anyone who is having their wedding after July 2, 2009 wants to buy my lanterns(come with LED battery operated lights) I can leave them there for you(easier travel for both of us:)). Let me know.

HI aug0208---my girls are doing casual J.Crew dresses also and my dress is J.Crew...We will all likely wear either leather flip flops from J.Crew (they have several in metallic), or I may wear a pair of their sandals that I have an ankle strap...sort of like a gladiator, but not too strappy.

This is a great website---I like the flip flop options for the guys too--maybe a good option for the groomsmen (as part of their gifts)?! Thanks for the recommendation!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
