Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Rory, I don't know if I'm ready! I haven't done much but I went to pick up my dress on Saturday and had to make some adjustments so it won't be ready until the 28th...lets see, I ordered some chair bows on ebay, no idea what I'm doing to my hair...Jacy still hasn't gotten back to me on my list of questions! I'll be leaving NY on 4/6 staying at Dreams until 4/11 then checking in at Secrets Maroma for my honeymoon until the following week. Our families will be getting to Dreams on 4/7 and 4/8, on 4/9, the wedding day, my FI is hosting a fishing trip in the morning for the men. On 4/10, we're taking everyone to Tulum and Xelha. It should be a fun time and I'm getting excited! We also ordered underwater cameras for the kids to use at Xelha.

I got this in "Jade" from ebay: Organza Sashes Bows Chair Ties Wedding Banquet Covers - eBay (item 300289733313 end time Mar-28-09 09:34:01 PDT)

To match this color for the dress that my moh chose for herself:

COLOR Bridesmaid Dresses - Browse David's Bridal's bridesmaids gowns by color

She chose a long dress, I don't remember which one it was but it was chiffon.

The best man will be wearing a linen shirt that same color.

The ring bearer and flower girl are both 2 years old so my sister and one of my sisters in law will also be wearing matching mermaid color dresses, short chiffon to complement the moh. They chose what they wanted I have no idea, I only told them what color to get the dresses in. They will be holding hands with the babies to walk with them. The ring bearer will be wearing a little guayabera shirt and the flower girl an ivory sundress.

Not a conventional bridal party but I thought it would be a cute idea.

I have no idea what I want to do about the flowers or anything like that...

That is such a beautiful color and will really look nice with the Caribbean as a backdrop. I think the little ring bearer in a guarabera shirt is going to be adorable!! If you have any ideas for flowers - bring them with you. You'll be there enough before the wedding to show Jacy what you want. She told my niece that the florist can do pretty much anything as long as the flowers are available. Lyales flowers were very pretty, and the arrangements on the gazebo were nice too, so I think they do a pretty good job of that.

You seem very laid back and calm, so everything should be great.

Patsah,

I love the color you chose. Very bold and vibrant! I know what you mean about looking forward to the vacation aspect of it! Me too (although I have a long time before my vacation starts!)

Also, I love nontraditional wedding parties. For me, my FI didn't want any groomsmen so just my sisters will be my honorary MOHs but we aren't having a best man or groomsmen or anything. That is the great thing about destination weddings- they are so flexible!

Congrats Lyales! I'm so glad everything went smoothly. Did you do the decoration or did the resort? Also, I can't remember what package you got. I've been trying to catch up on all the posts so my brain is fried! The bouquet was beautiful! Did it come with your package, did you pay extra for it and if you purchased off the resort where and how much? I was also wondering if you paid the $80 per person extra to have your reception on the beach?

Patash-

Are you leaving the sashes there, or bringing them back home. My color is simliar for the girls. It is POOL from David's Bridal. I was going to do pink and that color in order to not worry about having a perfect match. Anyway, thanks for the link!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
