Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies!

I'm considering DPA for an April 2010 wedding. Just wondering if all of you brides who have been dealing with DPA would recommend them? I've been reading some threads where people were talking about going offsite for reception and I"m going to have around 60 poeple so I don't want to do that, but also would like a package that includes almost everything! Does anyone know the approx. taxi cost to get to Playa from this resort? Is it in the middle of nowhere?

Thanks for your help!

Kim

Okay, so after about...hmm..4-5 months of deliberating, and researching, we finally reserved a date at DPA! We're getting married on July 16, 2009...so not too much time to plan. I'm sooo excited!!! We just need to pay the $500 deposit...kinda tough when its Christmas time..and after converting its $610 CDN. Oh well, good thing I saved for it :)

now..what to do from here..

Kimmy44--Not sure what the cost of a taxi would be to Playa, but I was told that DPA is only 15-20 minutes south, so not in the middle of nowhere...I like the fact that it is not in the middle of Playa or Cancun, and therefore less hectic. As far as your reception goes, when I was researching resorts, it seemed like there was always additional charges for groups above 20-30 people...So for 60 people I would expect additional charges at any resort, regardless of their package.

sg1307---Congrats on setting a datesmile123.gif You are getting married 2 days after I am! There is another bride on this forum getting married that week, too...hopefully we can all keep each other on track! I need to get invitations sent out ASAP...that is my project over the holiday break...

Hi girls! I am back from PA and it was awesome. The people are so nice and the location is great. WE went into the little town a few times and walked around the marina. If your friends are into swimming with the dolphins or fishing it is right in the marina and a 4 minute walk.

As far as the hotel itself it was a great experience. The food is outstanding-I think I gained 5 pounds. The staff is so nice and they go out of their way to help you with anything.

The wedding gazabo is really pretty and it located on the beach that is not as crowded. I'm not sure if they would let you have a reception at El Patio but that is literally right next to it-the bar is not too far from this either.

The gym is brand new-a bit hot but good equipment.

What else can I tell you? Ask me a ton of questions...

Also the concierge staff (Gaby and Sylvia) are awesome and the manager Oscar is great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
