Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Rory, I love the fact that your niece's brother will be doing the ceremony! We are also hoping to have a family member do ours...

As far as ceremony decorations, there are a couple of pics in the wedding package (p. 13) that show the gazebo decorations - mostly tulle, greens and flowers. If it were me, I would do two colors for chair bows...but I think alternating might look too busy. What about one color for the parents / immediate family (front row) and one color for other guests?

You only really see the back row as far as photos go, so for that, I would do alternating or just one color. There was a Del Sol slideshow that did a wedding with red and orange. Red looks close enough to fushcia in photos. They used alternating color bows. I'll see if I can find it...

Here it is...

I'm not sure how much they charge for chair covers, but you can buy them for about $2 a piece. The package only includes one entree. What wedding only gives one option? I want to offer two. Additional charge. Any changes to the menu. Additional charge. Chair covers for the reception. Additional charge. Then the thing about where the reception can be... Something about groups larger than 8 can't be in the restaurants? Idunno...

I just feel like some requests I have made like 2 entree selections and the chair covers at the reception, shouldn't be a big deal. I know they weren't at another resort (DT) and maybe I was spoiled. In the end, its my wedding day and I'm going to get what I want and its going to be perfect. I'm just going to stop thinking about the cost... :)
Bianca - Did Jacy say specifically how much it would be to have two entree choices?

And is anyone but me a little confused on wording? The menus say "buffet style is allowed for groups up to 50 people. So does that mean you can chose buffet style if you have 0-50 guests or have to have a minimum of 50 guests? I myself am a picky eater and I have other picky eaters attending. I want the Silver Menu and my personal choice would be the flank steak but I have people coming that don't eat red meat, etc. I would love to be able to customize but at this point it I don't know what to do. I am looking at this wedding guide and it just seems like no matter what route I go I will not really save any money since there is so little room for flexibility.

I noted that the guide mentioned shipping things to the resort in advance, is anyone thinking of doing this?

They basically copied the DT guide and added in some stuff. They talked about the wording about the dinner there also. They do mean if your group is more than 50 people then you have to get the buffet. Jacy never told me the charge for the second entree. At DT they would not do buffets for groups under 50, unless it was pretty close to that number.

I think that shipping to Mexico is too much of a headache. I am not going to do that. It can be expensive and you dont know how customs is going to be. They could choose to confiscate your package.

I really like the 2 colors combined. It's very pretty. I guess those bows are mesh bows. I was looking at satin, but the mesh will probably travel better and not be all wrinkled.

Good point... I wanted to do satin bows also. I guess Organza might be a better choice.

I second the whole not shipping to Mexico thing...international mail can be so unpredictable! I think that we are bringing whatever we can down in suitcases and I am considering sending our guests their gift bags by mail before they leave - so that they can pack the goodies in with their other stuff---any thoughts on thishuh.gif

I am definitely buying and bring a lot of my own stuff so I am just nervous about being able to get it down there, but the idea of spreading it out and having other people bring stuff is a good one. There are also things I might look into getting when we get there since I have seen lots of postings about a Costco and Walmart down there. I know it sounds crazy but I would LOVE to find my own tiki torches down there because paying $150 to have them at the reception is ridiculous. I bought tikis for my AHR for a $1.50 a piece at an end of season sale at Michaels.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
