Tho I am glad to read this...

"The Gazebo is our wedding location at the property, the time is subject to availability. All the packages include the basic set up with covered chairs for the guests and table for the judge or minister.

The Gazebo decoration is include in our Ultimate Wedding Package. The back up in case of rain would be at the

Ballroom, and the rain plan is decided 3 hours before ceremony depending on the weather" (p. 11).

and....

"The hotel performs maximum 2 weddings per day and the times are subject to availability. All weddings should be in a different time and in separated locations" (p. 12).

You got that right Rory! I have been up since 5:30 looking over the packages and the more I look the more questions I have. And I can't seem to get any info from Jacy. She used to get back with me within a couple of days. I sent her an email 2 weeks ago and still haven't heard back! I figured it up and since my fiance and I have been married before, it will cost us $660.00 for them just to do paperwork and bloodtests, etc. for us to have a civil ceremony there. I think we may just get married at home and then have a vow renewal there. Bianca from what I understand anything beyond 20 people is extra and that means chaircovers and bows. I have a question too. For the wedding package dinners do they charge $45.00-$55.00 per person beyond the twenty people for the buffet too? Or is that just for the sit down dinner?

Also for anyone that needs to know there is a website under the "wedding" link for Dreams with all the packages. There are also bouqeuts and I think wedding cakes to choose from.

My FH and I are going to just do the symbolic ceremony at DPA and the civil one at home before we leave...mostly just to avoid the extra cost and the waiting period. For us, the special part is saying vows in front of our family and friends, not the piece of paper, so it doesn't really matter where we get that. That is just my humble opinion, tho!!

We are getting married at home first just doing the symbolic ceremony down there as well. I agree with AlliMay, where I get the paper doesn't really matter. For us it was more of a matter of having to do the blood work not so much the cost. I am a chicken when it comes to needles and unless forced I prefer not to give blood so I will avoid it at all costs crybaby2.gif

So now that DT is open, maybe Natalia will be back at DPAhuh.gif

And...up date on the photographer issue...I found a photographer from the U.S. that is going with uswoot.gif. Now I just have to REconfirm that her being a guest is the only requirement and no extra fees will be associated.

My niece is also getting married at home - to save some money. And she didn't like the idea of getting the blood tests done there. My nephew, her brother, is coming home on leave from Iraq in June and is going to "officiate" at her wedding in his dress uniform, when they say their own vows.

I saw a picture of the gazebo with the wicker chairs and they look nicer than white plastic beach chairs. So, I guess that chair covers are not included for the ceremony. I thought it might be nice just having the chairs plain, but depending on what kind of material they're made of - it might be a problem with some of the lady's dresses getting snagged... so probably have to go with the chair covers. My niece was also planning on bringing tulle to decorate the gazebo, but I saw in the wedding brochure that decorations for the gazebo are included in the ultimate package. Does anyone know what that would be like? These seem like simple basic questions, but are important to know. As far as the bows go; I think only the chair covers are included in the package (for 20 chairs), so she'll have to bring enough bows to cover up to 40 chairs and just pay for an additional 20 chair covers. I am ordering those for her. Her colors are orange and fuschia. Would you alternate the 2 colors on the chair bows or just do one color?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
